I thought some of the language today in the Town End was pretty nasty. I mean calling their players 'a mothers c***' and whatever is not good is it ? Come on guys theres a lot of kids in our stand not to mention women so can we just stick to normal 'industrial' language or am I talking 'bollox'.

I'm not going to cast any stones (small s) towards the Town End, cos there are so many other places to go which I would hope are more family friendly (especially when the new stand is open, looks great) and I have been known to let out the odd strong word myself.
BUT I do hope that we don't get a reputation for being vile and ignorant, that is not what we are about

People who know me on here know I'm no Angel but I did say to another two long time fans that I was gona bring my boy to today's game but the vibe has changed. That paedo chant and other crass chants put me off....of all people me! It's gone past comical and gets embarrassing at times. I will be buying vp tickets me thinks as half my pals are up there anyway. And before some half hard limped dick dipstick says I'm being anti town end I'm not, I'm a town end original. It is purely a light weight tourettes minority trying to impress the regular faces, not the lads that do a great singing job. Great result today and the team done well from what I'm reading.

Oh for Christ sake, Supporters swear during football match, well I never... This. I was in the Town End with my nine year old, yeah the language can be colorful but as has been said, there is plenty of places to stand if it's not for you. I actually found the supporters there today who were shouting and swearing (and i dont mean the loud guy's around the drummer who people here seem to hate) when we couldn't get a first half goal far more annoying seeing as we pretty much controlled everything.

This is a topical thread for me.
Swearing at MUFC is too much, too frequently and in front of young children. It occurs from men, women, young, old. Today, a lady in her 50's who sits very near to me started suggesting Lee Worgan was a "wanker" for being off his line and conceding the equalising goal.
Ironically, though, I have been accused of swearing today, whilst with sat at the game with my two young children. Maybe the face of a 40 something white male, with short hair, fits the crime.
In my instance, the Stewards have made the accusation with no evidence to back it up and for the record I didn't swear.
Indeed, when two ladies that i do not know came to defend me at the end of the game, to say that I had not sworn, the Stewards refused to listen to them, instead continued to assert and persecute me, with no evidence of there own, and blindly ignoring witnesses who were saying I hadn't.
So, whilst the club seem to be giving approval to swearing in the Town End, and turning a blind eye to it, they are either making false accusations or mistakenly accusing people in the Main Stand of swearing.
No right to defend yourself, and when you do, they are aggressive and threaten to ban you. Refuse to listen to independent witnesses.
So, what the hell is going on.
Michelle, drop me a message...

I don't mind the odd swear word in football songs, but hate people who swear every other word. Something to do with football atmosphere I suppose.

Before someone tries to point the finger at them it wasn't the younger lads at the back of the town end today and yes their language isn't always the best at times however while other people are more interesting in shouting and swearing their the ones that do the singing. Fair play to them.

I agree, IS. The stuff I heard being chanted at Parkinson on Boxing Day was low quality. I was at the Torquay away match and the atmosphere was superb. Can we have more of that. I noticed a comment somewhere that the drummer is hated. I'm pretty certain most people like him.

The comment about the drummer being hated is total b-ll--ks! He does a great job and really helps supporters get together with the vocals

The club needs to be consistent in its application of the rules regardless of where in the ground incidents occur and and these rules are clearly defined in the match day programme. Unfortunately there will always be questionable language and some you hear from the "older" generation is industrial to the extreme, and hardly role models for the kids. And by the way I did not hear senna swearing yesterday.
