We didn't deserve that , thought we were the better team. The thing is they took their chances we didn't . Next games are the most important I feel . It wasn't a last minute 1-0 smash and grab by Dover, we were not for the first time absolutely hammered 4-1 yet again!!

An enjoyable game to watch and I thought we played some good football when had the ball down*1. (As we have for the last few games). Heads didn't drop when we went 1 and even 2 down, which is a real positive and watching Vas running back to the centre circle clutching the ball after we had scored was a pretty clear statement of intent and belief; even when it went to 3-1 I didn't feel we gave up.*2A bit of a microcosm of our season though : a number of mishaps leading to conceding goals and failing to convert possession and pressure into goals (but at least we did manage shots today and some of their stops and blocks did look to be verging on the heroic. I do agree with others that Flish doesn't look the real deal at the moment, but I don't think it is down to being good enough for this level, for me he has not looked right since coming back from the bruised back*3 and I think he still has a problem. Not sure I would go as far as putting him out on loan, but I do agree he shouldn't be the first choice starter as things stand. Callum is clearly struggling and I don't know whether this is one level too far or whether he's still playing catch up*4 having missed the first half season at this new level. Not sure what the immediate answer is to that problem. Anyway we should really have expected zero points from the christmas break and if we hadn't put up such a good show at Crabble, then there would have been no expectation whatsoever for today. As others have said (other than reinforcements which we still hope for) the key is if we can put in performances like today against against the lower teams as well as the higher (which to be fair we did against NFU) AND make something happen in front of goal. Some important games coming up of course, but I remain hopeful. *1 - agree, we need to persevere with this; we have improved to this end. However, we need to be quicker moving the ball around. *2 - if this is correct, and I think you are right, it is pivotal to us staying up. Thought there was some bickering between Coyle and Lokko after I think the third goal, no point in blame game, we don't bicker when we score. *3 - I think he should be rested, he is still working the sites I think , so as you say clearly still carrying a knock, and working a day job must prolong recovery *4 - I think playing catch up, think Calum is class

Really cannot see what Jay could have done differently with the players he has. We all fancy ourselves as amateur tactical experts, but we had to play attacking open football to get anything today. Very frustrating times.

Today's score didn't reflect the game, we should of been 2 up after 20 mins, but you can't complete with their finishing, it was good. I didn't think we played bad, just need an out and out goal scorer and a bit of luck. We miss they score, keep going lads and play like that to the end of the season and I think we will be ok. Agree, but unfortunately we associate your words with teams in our league position, and they get relegated.
So we have to change something.
We need a goal scorer, or one of our current to start hitting better form and quick.
We also need a better atmosphere at the Gallagher.
It is not coincidence we held them at Dover, but lost at home.
Really? I thought the town end were great today. But, even when we sing all game, does it really make much difference to the end result?

I still don't think we're going down, but that's based purely on faith in Ders and blind optimism. I wish i had your faith...

we got to stop leaking goals, simple as This time last year people were calling for Jay's head because we were grinding out dull 1-0 victories, near the top of the NLS. We can't do the same in this league due to higher quality opposition. If we can't recruit the quality of player required, I would rather go down playing attacking football than being timid and defensive.

Well we wern't timid and defensive v Dover The lads gave it their best and matched the opposition in everything except the minor matter of 'taking chances' To be honest, don't think Jay is doing anything wrong with how the team is being asked to play, just some lack of quality around the penalty box is killing us Not sure why out top scorer Bobby Joe is failing to get a start these days, especially given the lack of goals from Yemi and Flish

On another note , a local derby , a team in the play offs and they could only sell 208 tickets ! Very poor !

On another note , a local derby , a team in the play offs and they could only sell 208 tickets ! Very poor ! We only just sold ours the day before.so there was no demand for the game from our perspective.... we had this chat last night .. Live on telly . No trains past Ashford . No cover. Pouring with rain . Cheap beers in a nice dry club house with your mates . I popped to the bar for a quick jack Daniels. .and we must of had 300 in there watching it all game . Poor atmosphere all around main stand full of card board cut outs one stand closed ,Dover were very quiet.all riverside very dull ..town end loud all game never stopped in terms of a local football fest it was a one sided wash out . I'd fear for Dover if they went up though would they break the 1200 every week ,I'd doubt ,it you could even see sub 1000 gates in the league

It was on the telly - high unemployment in Dover, & not a wealthy town at the best of times. I've always felt these factors influence Dover's attendances, not catchment area.

Still..208 for a kent derby at National Level and your team can go top 4 is very poor however you dress it up.

Two things iam struggling with. With three quialty forwards in hindsight shouldn't we have matched them with three center backs? Zonal marking always causes confusion certainly Driver and Coyle didn't look at ease with it. Secondly why has BJT been dropped for Flish on the left? BJT has done nothing wrong at all however Flishers lack of form results in him being shifted from up top back to the left strange. Apart from that we were definitely unluck we were the better team for long spells Paxman was outstanding and really bossing the midfield our workrate was amazing. If we had had the lead it would have been us catching them on them break instead them packing the box and breaking into space something we are are far more suited to do. Also it was a certain penalty we are haveing no luck at the moment. My motm Paxman simply outstanding.
