We didn't deserve to lose 4-1 today.
What a bad day at the office for Flisher...
Should have scored first perhaps even twice. I'd say a fair result would have been 2-2.
Oh well... onto the next one.

Difference today was absolutely down to the quality of the finishing.

Agreed. Dovers first wasn't an easy one. We'd have not finished the same chance.

We didn't deserve that , thought we were the better team. The thing is they took their chances we didn't . Next games are the most important I feel .

kc7 spot on, the only difference was the quality of finishing stats don't lie and Dover have 3 outstanding goal machines in their team pity of it is we equalled them in so many areas of the match possession, tackling, passing and effort we matched Dover and creating chances we easily had the edge Jack Paxman another very good match in midfield, helped by Rogers the wide boys Vas and Jamar causing plenty of problems again loads of last ditch defending by Dover Yemi again just a bit short at this level Flish busting his guts again, but goals have dried up totally did Worgan really have much to do other than pick the ball out of his net 4 times ? defence generally ok except for Driver who got skinned too many times ultimately though the difference was just in the finishing

Agree with both Nick and Binsey the difference was they had 3 goal scorers we have none, but can't help feel the result was karma for the disgusting chants at Jack Parkinson today. No doubt we will have another 10 pages about a harmless puff of smoke and the embarrassing chants of more than a few will hardly get a mention.

At least i didn't walk away thinking 'god that was a dire performance' As has been said already, they get chances and buried 'em emphatically. Driver wasn't having a good one at all. Flish unlucky with the slip to lead to their goal. Loza not covering himself in glory by messing about with the ball in midfield, another goal.
It wouldn't have affected the result I don't think, but my GOD!!!! that ref was a grade one knobend.
Got to keep playing like that against the lower teams, but we're not seeing it, YET! Let's hope we continue like it and find the net for once and we'll scrape it to just outside the bottom 4, Hopefully 😬

Today's score didn't reflect the game, we should of been 2 up after 20 mins, but you can't complete with their finishing, it was good. I didn't think we played bad, just need an out and out goal scorer and a bit of luck. We miss they score, keep going lads and play like that to the end of the season and I think we will be ok.

Agree, but unfortunately we associate your words with teams in our league position, and they get relegated.
So we have to change something.
We need a goal scorer, or one of our current to start hitting better form and quick.
We also need a better atmosphere at the Gallagher.
It is not coincidence we held them at Dover, but lost at home.

Better atmosphere would be nice but it makes f--k all difference to taking chances.
Really like the width Jamar and Vas are giving to attacking options
Jack Paxman looks like he's finally arrived
Real problem lies with Yemi and Flish who just cannot apply the quality finishing required at this level

And yes we need to look at the positions up front I'd be tempted to put BJT on the wing Saturday and push vas up front

We didn't deserve to win or draw today, we deserved to lose.
You can't fail to convert the number of chances we had in the first half or defend as cataclysmically as we did for their last three goals and claim we deserve anything.
OK, we looked a lot better today, we attacked, we played some neat football, it was encouraging stuff. And maybe the Dover games will turn out to be the turning point of the season. But if we can't convert chancers or defend against NL strikers we are fucked.
I still don't think we're going down, but that's based purely on faith in Ders and blind optimism.

An enjoyable game to watch and I thought we played some good football when had the ball down. (As we have for the last few games). Heads didn't drop when we went 1 and even 2 down, which is a real positive and watching Vas running back to the centre circle clutching the ball after we had scored was a pretty clear statement of intent and belief; even when it went to 3-1 I didn't feel we gave up.
A bit of a microcosm of our season though : a number of mishaps leading to conceding goals and failing to convert possession and pressure into goals (but at least we did manage shots today and some of their stops and blocks did look to be verging on the heroic.
I do agree with others that Flish doesn't look the real deal at the moment, but I don't think it is down to being good enough for this level, for me he has not looked right since coming back from the bruised back and I think he still has a problem. Not sure I would go as far as putting him out on loan, but I do agree he shouldn't be the first choice starter as things stand.
Callum is clearly struggling and I don't know whether this is one level too far or whether he's still playing catch up having missed the first half season at this new level. Not sure what the immediate answer is to that problem.
Anyway we should really have expected zero points from the christmas break and if we hadn't put up such a good show at Crabble, then there would have been no expectation whatsoever for today. As others have said (other than reinforcements which we still hope for) the key is if we can put in performances like today against against the lower teams as well as the higher (which to be fair we did against NFU) AND make something happen in front of goal.
Some important games coming up of course, but I remain hopeful.
