I am. My expectations are 0.00000000000000000000001% positive , so considering our current form I am feeling very positive indeed about Monday.

you must have started xmas celebrations early - far too optimistic for my liking I need to add a load more 0's to your positive rating to get to current expectations
this forum is loaded with wildly optimistic expectations of match results just check out the majority of posts on individual match forecasts that expect Stones to win match after match and what happens ?
but I will be down at the Crabble with a couple of car loads of mates as usual and as long as the lads keep it down to single figures, we'll be happy enough

It's about what you want to happen rather than what you believe the actual result will be. I never predict us to lose, but even I don't believe many of my predictions will come true.

As I have said before I really struggle to predict a stones defeat regardless of who we play, but one things is certain, whatever Monday,s result we will all still be back supporting them at the return match. It,s what we do as supporters.

This double header is one that could easily not happen again for years, it's a derby, and it's a game we expect nothing out of. Every single other game we've played this season that fits 2 of those 3 criteria has seen a good performance, whether we got anything out of it or otherwise. In short, I don't expect any points but any we do get won't be too much of a surprise.

I guess some sort of excessive optimism, gives you a short term fix believing that we can win fixture after fixture, despite the reality or at least hoping that we get something out of Stones next match but of course, we don't, or hardly ever in the real world you must have been experiencing disappointment after disappointment as the cycle of defeats go on and on and yet you carry on being optimistic all very strange but if it works for you, fair enough for me losing at home to NFU only confirmed my accurate forecast of 24 hours earlier setting sights and expectations close to zero is a pretty good technique for coping with this season's trials and tribulations

Well Im hoping the lads confound everybody and grab us 3 points. On our day we can give anyone a game we just need to turn up and be on our game which has been a rare event.

All this talk of darkest moments and struggle for survival is somewhat over the top. Surely our darkest moment was when the club folded and we will not struggle to survive even if we get relegated. Bit of perspective required perhaps.

You've obviously forgotten some our seasons in the Ryman Premier first time around, coupled with as Dave said a chance we were watching our last game! In reality we've now 'never had it so good' I'm sure I've heard that quote before! 😉
