ooooo. Is that a doooble entendre I spy? You Nortei Nortey boy! Possibly my favourite player's name this season. Guy behind us at the Wrexham game spent the entire time from when he came on hoping he'd get sent off - just so he could say "Nortei Nortey's been a bad boy"!

Well Mr Hunter, I don't think anything we've said about your dire little club and your ludicrous attitude to filming or commentating has been any more than you deserve. Just read his notes / 3 page essay. He does have a hell of a point with the (BBC) radio though. It's something I've always thought a bit pointless but why send two radio crews to every game at this level? For those not aware - Every game at the Gall we've had Radio Kent & Radio Wherever. Each team comprises of two people and their own separate kit. In a time when the BBC are trying to save money why not just have one team of two made up with one from the host team radio and away team radio - if they're not concerned about bias just get the host radio team to do it and make sure they spend more than 10mins doing homework on opposing team? Just seems pointless & little bit frivolous to me - have one feed for both "counties" radio. I assume their chairman made his money in film/tv/radio? You can tell!

Be good if the two BBC teams got narked with each other's commentary and it ended in fisticuffs!
My favourite commentary was the one in Welsh that you could hear in the background on the Wrexham highlights.
Not enough Welsh commentary in football in my opinion.
Anyway, how the hell is there room up there on the scaffolding for you, SL and at least two other commentators?!

To be honest I thought that was going to happen anyway, after the last big round of spending reviews Radio Leeds did away with pairs of hosts on it's programmes with just a couple of exceptions - a two hour show on Saturday lunchtime that clearly wouldn't work as one as it is a comedy based show, and the Sunday morning gardening phone-in. This must have made up for the sports coverage as Radio Leeds covers not only Leeds games, but also those involving the dog botherers (Huddersfield), Bradford and Guiseley in terms of live commentary - not to mention all of the Rugby League teams. That said, exactly how much does he have to contribute towards the BBC's workforce plan?

Interesting discussion.
Compare now to when I first started watching the Stones - live commentary, interviews, special programmes, video highlights, web sites - none of that existed in the pre-bust days, and it's all provided for free by volunteers.
The only thing that's stayed the same is the limited coverage by Radio Medway/Kent - inadequate then and still inadequate now.
The BBC have just sat back and watched this media revolution happen all around them. They could have got involved right at the beginning and helped set up and train the volunteer groups, and then have used them as feeds into their own programmes. Why have a team and equipment at the JWW, when you could just go over to the Stones Live team? Why film a match yourself, when you can just use Stones TV clips?

Ooh hang on, BT Sports is a subsidary of the BBC; gosh they've preempted JDL's whining

Which is exactly what BT Sport do for their National League highlights show. Have you seen how bad some of that is? Which probably answers JDL's question!

BT Sports a subsidiary of the BBC stormtrooper67? Absolute tosh! Really? Just a coincidence that most of BT Sports presenters also happen to work on the BBC as well then?
