A good performance from the lads today. I just wish we could have more shots on goal when we have the chance. At least 3 times we were in a good position but failed to have a shot and instead chose to pass the ball and hence lose possession. completely agree with this and JDL's post. Better to have a go at goal rather than piss about on the edge of the box and give the ball away with no shot made. Good to see a forum member practising what he preaches too. You could have walked over to the bin, but you decided for a first time shot and launched the bottle at the bin from about 10 feet. Shame it didn't go in :-)

A Tuesday game could quite probably work in our favour
IF we play the same formation with similar personnel we will come up against NFU with more knowledge of how to play that way than if we had just had a training session

At least 3 times we were in a good position but failed to have a shot and instead chose to pass the ball and hence lose possession. I didn't see the game, but as a general observation, our strikers often seem to dwell on the ball, or need that extra touch, before they score, and defences at this level will deal with that all day long. Almost all the opposition strikes I've seen this season have been snap shots, with no hesitation, no time for the defence to react. If we can't get proven NL level strikers in (as seems to be the case), we need to get someone in who can coach our strikers not to piss about, but just kick the bloody thing! Quite right, with that we have to have the discipline not to get on at our players if it ends up in the car park. I would rather they had a go and a goal kick is easier to defend than a clean ball robbed from a dawdling forward. Plus anything could happen with a mis-hit shot, deflection for a corner perhaps, or even a wrong footed keeper unable to stop a goal. Oh and great for Elliot Capel to get on the bench but I wouldn't object if a certain fitness coach got registered and used for a few minutes if necessary, whilst no longer anywhere near his pomp he must still know where the goal is

Was that just a one-off, or was it typical of the game? The only strikers we have who seem to be able to regularly snap a shot in without farting about are Flish and BJT, but even they have their moments, especially of late.
