(3-0) The one consolation being that I didn't go.
Edit (3-1)Could I live to eat those words
Edit (3-2) Gulp!
Oh Well. Not meant to be. Why couldn't we have played like the last 20mins for the first 70mins?

I still firmly believe staying up this season will a bigger better achievement then winning the playoffs last season.

Terrible team selection from Saunders, Sweeny had a poor game this one, Paxman and Sweeny never play well together and this has happened many games, the balance in midfield!is awful. Couldn't he had selected Evans to play with Paxman? When he came on it was much better and started to switch play more.
The shape was a joke, was it 4-4-2, 4-3-3? Seth got no help the first half and Southport doubled up on him and caused us problems. When Seth was getting raped you think Jay would of changed it in the first half. In my opinion he completely underestimated Southport who had been on a decent run under Steve Bauer of late. The new lad didn't track but and I don't remember him touching the ball. Loza very isolated with yemi up top lots of long ball and it just coming back.
If we had set up with 4-5-1 to start it would of been much better. Played well last 15 mins but the game was just beyond us.

looks like we drop down to 17th place with the buffer below being reduced to 6 points But, with three of our best players out and yet another new one to adjust to, we came back from 3 down. We'll still be here next season!

Didn't go today but Sweeney has looked out of his depth every time I've seen him in home games this season. We bought him last year at a time when we were struggling to score goals, probably because he was hitting the net a lot for Dulwich in the Ryman. It doesn't necessarily matter that he isn't scoring for us, what we needed was for him to use that big frame to impose himself on midfield and get some sort of control in there. Unfortunately he doesn't appear to have the ability to do that, which is a shame. He does show some nice touches at times but not often enough - the higher we go, the more consistency we need from players.
