Brilliant goals! I thought Flisher was practically on the line for his first - and he was! I saw Cantona score a goal like that at UP once, and never thought I'd see it again. And it looked like Murphy's goal was deflected in at the time, but on the replay it seems to have gone in cleanly.
And who was offside for Greenhouse's wonderful individual 'goal'? May. Wandering round in a daze, seemingly unaware of where he was.
Flisher was so knackered at the end of that game he could barely trot, but he still moved faster than May. What on earth does Jay see in him?

What on earth does Jay see in him? Jay May is nothing more than an expensive squad player, he can only play one type of football, has the pace of a slug, not so long ago people on here were demanding that Frannie leave the club and not too stay just for the money which is exactly what May is doing

It seems that the only contribution May could make in the match was to get an otherwise perfectly good goal, disallowed he is a liability at this level, so embarrassing to see him in a Stones shirt, cannot imagine why Jay perseveres with him

We were playing a Ryman Premier team. Just saying. Jay May could probably still do a job with regular starts for a Ryman club, he's not a bad player but probably out of his depth in the National League. He did score a few goals for us last year in those vital 1-0 wins, let's not forget that. His style of play isn't suited to National football and he doesn't really have the craft or pace to unlock quality defences. I don't personally want to slag a player who has done a lot of very good things for us in recent seasons but it probably is time for him to go now. When your form goes, sometimes it just never wants to come back - look at Frannie, he rarely scores anything other than penalties these days. Birchall did the sensible thing and took a job as a youth coach at Arsenal rather than trying to prolong a career that petered out into shooting blanks (or not actually shooting at all, as I remember). Maybe Jay May has simply had his time.

When Ben knocked the ball through, to himself, both Jay May and Tom Murphy were in an offside position but not interfering with play - although one could say that the aforementioned Jay May very nearly interfered with Ben. Leave it for the dressing I say!

Leave it for the dressing I say! You can't really claim to not be interfering with play when the attacking player practically has to run round you! At the time I thought May and Greenhouse had done some clever 1-2 (although I didn't understand why), but on the video May just seems to get in his way! Although, I suppose you could argue that he was getting in the defenders way too. Perhaps that's why Jay keeps bringing him on? It's that or the photos...

Leave it for the dressing I say! You could also say if you had halfway decent eyesight that the ball actually brushed against Jay May on the way through, so he was offside by any definition you care to mention, although I very much doubt the linesman on the far side could have seen that.

Dave you are right on both observations. From behind the goal you could clearly see jay touch the ball on the way through so we assumed it may be disallowed but how the linesman saw that is a wonder.

The obligatory shot of main stand fans leaving early. I have to ask (purely because I can't be arsed to go back over previous highlights), but are these the same people every time? Maybe they have a need to be on the telly and feel that this is their only way to reach the heady heights of youtube.

The linesman just saw Jay (and Murphy?) in an off-side position. That's all he needed to see to raise his flag. From Greenhouse's reaction he wasn't exactly surprised. I wonder if he thanked May for his help in the changing room afterwards?
