Just worth restating how well we've done so far this season for all those who've lost site of the bigger picture. After 11 games we sit 13th in the table with 10 of the teams above us being full time. We're ahead of Wrexham, York and Torquay and have already won on our travels 3 times this year. Our average attendance is 4th best in the league at over 2300 and we're averaging well over 200 on the road. The town end have lifted the singing levels from where they were last year at home and the away support as ever has been class. We've been live on the TV and given a good account of ourselves. We've also got a new stand on the way to continue to develop the ground.
Ok the last 2 games have been poor, but I'd have bitten your hand off to be where we are at this stage being as close to the play off positions as the relegation positions. Well done to all so far, COYS!

Well said.
But unfortunately, it doesn't help much when you're watching your second shite game in a week!

I've said the same in another thread that was started last week .It's a decent enough start no better or worse than I expected with the players who were resigned, as long as we stay up its been a good season

You can only be realistic if you are Dave U. Everyone else has to be upbeat and 100% positive.

Let's face it pmh is in a minority on this forum The majority predicted the likelihood of a 4 match winning run (just 2 matches ago) with Bromley and Guiseley being particularly easy wins

Agreed Some players won't be up to the higher standard Some will take to it like ducks to water Others will need time to adjust but will eventually It is still too early to categorise (exception Worgan duck etc.), and even the new players need time As long as we are accumulating enough points (which we are presently) we have time to find out what works and what doesn't And yes, well happy with the way things are going, we are in 12th and second out of the 4 promoted clubs by 1 point, we can expect the odd stutter and the odd run of play off form over the season

The good news is, we're on grass next week and after the great performances at Chester and NFU, the smash and grab at Boring Wood, there must be room for optimism? as we seem to play well on the real stuff.

Or away from home? We always seem to do better away, especially in the early-mid part of the season. I can't believe it's grass v 3G, as surely we're at a disadvantage on grass, especially in the winter, as we both train and play (home) exclusively on 3G. So is it just coincidence, or do we try harder away (because it's assumed you are at a disadvantage as the away side), or is it the pressure/expectation to win at home?

Well done to all so far, COYS! I think that's absolutely right, I'd have taken 15 points from 11 games at the start of the season, excellent start. But, if we repeat the last 2 performances it's hard to know how long the next 15 points would take to come! It's a stretch though (imho) to go from accepting that the players have not played well enough, to leap to : the players are not good enough / the right players. I don't think a wholesale change of players is the answer at all. Just looking at the new boys : Liam has played 3 games (+ 1 sub) , Nathan 2 games (+1 sub) and Yemi about 20 minutes. Yet people on these boards already know everything there is to know about them and whether they are good enough for the team!? (Some of the best scouts in the land we have here clearly). I'm led to believe there is another MUFC somewhere in the country who have also had a recent poor run : opinions there seem to differ between whether they have a sh1t manager, sh1t players or just need to learn to play effectively as a team. Does one of those apply here?

Fair enough, gromley, you presumably are steering readers towards your last point
It is possible that Jay Saunders will completely agree with you, but I doubt whether he will be so patient
For sure the team can play a lot better than the last two performances
But I think a couple of players who started regularly this season are at serious risk at present
And I mean from our head honcho, not from moaning fans
Jay does tend to ring the changes when he is looking for improved performances
Seems pretty obvious that one or even two of our attacking wide players are to be rested
Maybe Flish will be pushed out wide
I would wager that James Rogers will make his come back on Saturday
For a long shot, look for Jay May to be in the starting line up (along with Liam)
