According to the latest missive from the legend himself, Bill Williams, it will be down to 2,500 while the new stand is being built.
This is rather more than I'd expected, so good news, as on current form it will be enough for most games.
However, there weren't too many more than 2,500 in on Saturday and that was pretty packed - comfortable, but still quite full. Imagine that gate without the Library end being available and it's going to be pretty tight, especially on cold/rainy days when standing by the sides isn't so popular.
It also gives a pretty good indication of the size of the new stand - to bring the capacity up to 4,000ish, it will need to hold around 1,500. That's going to be one hell of a crowd/noise!
And it shows just how far we've come in such a short time - it wasn't that long ago that our average gate could have fitted in that one stand!
(Mind you, as nws will no doubt point out, it wasn't that long ago that our average gate could have fitted in the Town End - with room to spare!)

I think the new stand will actually hold more than 1700.

I went to a few PDC mid week games at Sittingbourne a while back when you could've sat the crowd in the dugouts!

Does this thread cover reduced capacity in terms of a number of posters on this forum who have significantly thicker skulls than the rest of us and thus use such a small percentage of brain capacity it always rounds to 0.000001%
No names mentioned but some moan a lot, may need a hair trim, or have posted significantly more messages than the intelligent amongst us 😆😆

Where did I say I thought it was me? You seem to be obsessed with me, replying to everything I post like a weird stalker. Perhaps it's your own personal issue you should be worrying about. Yet again it's you and senna hijacking a topic for the sake of some cheap point scoring.

With that amount of additional people standing down the sides the view is not going to be that great unless you are in the front 2 rows.

That's why this season I have opted for a Season Ticket in the Main Stand. I prefer standing & will probably revert to standing again next season after the work is completed.
