Saw somewhere that Jay was trying to get a fixture against a league club at home this Saturday. Anyone know of any further updates on this ?

None confirmed as of yet, I doubt any league side will have the time or notice, he'll be lucky to get a pub team turn up.

Agreed. Thought that was a bit optimistic. Hoping for any game tbh, even against a pub team.

Both games called off because of a dodgy pitch. Glad we are playing Braintree at home in August.

Braintree have had like 3-4 friendlies cancelled now due to the state of their pitch.

Judging by the quality of our pre season friendlies, we are hoping for a game against my sons under 11 team at Barming this weekend

Braintree are an absolute laughing stock in this league regarding their pitch, they can't even get games on during the summer as well as most the season. If a club ever needed 3G, it's them.

I think they had some drainage work done in the summer and the pitch has taken longer to recover than expected. I guess they are now suffering short term problems in an attempt to solve long term ones.

I'm sure by the standard of friendlies so far the supporters would give them a game on Saturday if they can't get one.

I think Jay was worried that 'nice touch for a big man' Shatty would have left him with an injury crisis and A&E full up at Pembury!
