Anyone coming up to Barrow on Oct 8th - Just up the hill from The Lakes or do I have to stand on the Terrace on my own ?

I'm thinking about it. It's about two hours drive north for me.

I'm away that weekend in Venice, which if my memory serves me correctly Barrow is just as beautiful

'The arse end of nowhere' is a much overused phrase, but Barrow is one of those places that really does deserve it.
Only been there once. That was more than enough.
And don't be fooled by its close proximity to the Lake District!

It's like God ran out of beautiful after creating the Lake District

You've just reduced the attendance by at least one!

Does Barrow have Gondolas Toon or just the odd nuke sub for day trips ??

'Anyone coming to Barrow?' I expect we will take away more than just you. We'll take quite a few, probably stay overnight too, think its a fair distance away (not too good at geography though). Not sure if it merits a night stop or whether it is easily done in 1 day.

6 hours, 333 miles each way according to Google Maps. 6 hours is a good run. A couple of years ago we stayed in a cottage near the southern end of Windermere, and it took us nearly 9 hours to get there, Barrow's probably another half an hour on top of that.
