Anyone else popping down tonight? Looking forward to seeing some new faces in the team and a decent game hopefully.

Does it matter as its football rather than tennis...

Just to finish the story, Jay subbed the whole outfield team at half-time. The result ended up being 6-1, Jay May scoring both in the second half. Folkestone forum is full of praise for the way we played. Nice to hear a trialist got a couple.

Did we have a keeper on the bench?

We only changed one at half time then the other 10 5-10 minutes into the second half. Ben Bridle-Card was on the bench and came on with the other 9.
A pretty emphatic victory really without ever needing to get into second gear, always difficult to judge in a friendly really though. Greenhalgh looked lively when he came on and played pretty centrally, getting out wide when he needed to and putting in some decent crosses, can see him really having an impact this season.
I sort of expected more from Folkestone but maybe I just underestimated just how big the gap is between us and them now. Not a bad start but I do worry the lack of quality opposition in pre-season may mean we've never really been tested before we go up against a team that's only just dropped out of the football league on August 6th.

Pre-season matches are for fitness purposes , it shouldn't matter who the opposition are. Last night was a walk in the park , but I am sure that few of our players needed this one under their belt , it was very entertaining even though it was a bit one sided. Fenwick looked lively as did Murphy and Lokko looked sound at the back. Sweeney marshalled the middle of the park and Ben looked full of runs when he came on ! ... Looking forward to the next few games , it was nice too to see so many Maidstone fans at the match ... I think that some were there to tune up the new songs for the coming season ! Lol.😂
