As has been mentioned before, get one of these 0% interest free cards. Some give you an interest free period of over 2 years in which to pay back your season ticket. www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/best-0-credit-cards#longestdealMy advice would be to cut up the card once you have purchased your season ticket so you won't be tempted to use it for additional purchases, unless of course you want to. Also, make sure you pay off at least the minimum amount each month to avoid financial penalties and always pay it off before the interest free period ends (make a note of when this is in your diary so you don't forget).

This must be tempered by noting that your credit score will probably go down a little for six months after taking such a card.

And if you are responsible with it and pay it off fully and on time, then when you are done with it your credit score should be higher than before you took the card.

I didn't renew the season ticket............couldn't afford the big hit in one go though... I wouldn't be able to afford STs at Leeds. For the last ten years plus they have operated a 0% finance deal through Zebra finance (other credit brokers are available). Basically you pay a deposit of one sixth of the cost of the ST and then clear the rest with five monthly payments, then the thing is paid off before the end of the autumn. I often wondered how this made financial sense to the company, but I guess they pick up some additional business by picking up thousands of business contacts in the process.
