I'm not sure why we have to be so disrespectful of The Fleet. We might have a few issues with Varney, but the vast majority of their fans are decent people who only want to support their club, and if they've got one or two cocks we should rise above it. Let's celebrate a fantastic result with joy, but also with dignity and respect, and maybe a dash of humility. I have enjoyed our tussles with them this year and wish them well for the future, and with luck in a couple of years we can renew our rivalry in the National league.

Dave, please don't speak for the "we". You're the one saying "they've got one or two cocks". Bang goes your PR job.

I think Dave U felt outdone in all the other threads as regard to this fixture and needed to create his own ! Lol. ?. He got a great reception from the boys at the George and Dragon in Swanscombe before the game , but in true fashion ... He ignored the friendly banter !!.

They are bloody toxic and I hope we avoid them for the foreseeable future! We turned them over on their own patch and defiantly shrunk a few heads! Tell me you weren't sent into a state of estacsy when worgan saved from kedwell. They should learn not to mess with us and our fans because we are Maidstone United Football Club!!

I think for the most part, everyone's been fine. Complimentary of Fleet's fans and players, just not their executives. Which is fine.

That is a new level of creepy lowness, that is the words of a big girls blouse. They treated stones like shit twice in a season at SBR ...and twice we beat them . They didn't show us any DaveU.bgb..pr man

If we had lost then you can be sure this forum would have been flooded with Fleet fans mugging us off. As it is I have no desire to slag them off and frankly don't really care what they do from now onwards as I am too busy celebrating our victory. Yes I like reading fleetphil's forum posts and hope he continues posting here.

I had a laugh at the Quo song, how could I not? Not sure what other reaction you expect.

I think there may be a couple on here that look at it differently, they know who they are. I said on one of my other posts had we won, I would not have gloated on here, that's just not me. I know what losing this way feels like, believe me its not nice, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. People forget we are all fans of our clubs, we have no control over what they do, or whatever. I woke up again this morning, so I am happy with that. 3 years following Maidstone at London Road I believe, in the mid to late fifties I think. Now 35-40 years following the Fleet, so when some say we are better more genuine fans, and I don't understand the meaning of it. Anyway a thank you to all on here for allowing me to post without any major issues, and good conversations. I will keep an eye out for your progress, and hope to post sometime during next season. Best of luck. Phil.

I think Phil speaks for all what good in non league ie friendly banter etc . I guess the lead up to the game did not help but even as fleet is a 5 minute drive from my house Im glad won't be visiting again soon. Maybe spoiled by the two arseholes pictured but given there were kids nearby and had a steward standing in front they were a disgrace. Micky Flanagan especially went down the other end and was giving it to Worgs. Asshole big style .

Erm weren't you calling them a vile club on the Conf S forum last week?

I think it's like a lot of other things in life, from a distance you build up this idea but when you're face to face with a situation the whole thing is different. Once you're face to face with another football fan and you et chatting it's very difficult to not just get along and appreciate that you've got a lot in common (unless they're a total dick but that's very rare).

I was with Fleet fans who were very kind until our second goal and their missed penalty, when suddenly I was consoling them instead of celebrating like a looney. The big day seemed to bring out more of their arsewipes, but 99.9% are exactly the same as us. The disappearance of their side terrace is a real loss to Kent football, but I'm sure we will marvel at the shiny new stand.
