Before the match yesterday I walked up to Swanscombe United's ground which is not far from Stonebridge Road. Not been there since the county league days in 1994 and we won 10-0 that day.Just made me realise just how times have changed and how far we've come as a club since then. Many thoughts also of some of the people who have passed since then and didn't see us get back to the town and win back our pride on the pitch.

I wasn't there that long ago (because I lived away and didn't know we were going again). It is hard to believe that we are back to Conference National after that incredible journey through a variety of Kent/Sussex villages all those years ago. I can remember going to a meeting once at the Post Office where Big Mick told PBB that he would shake his hand if we were getting a 0-0 draw at Ramsgate in the Kent League. I bet he is a happy man this morning. To sound slightly negative I hope everyone realises we have swapped Truro and Weston away days for Gateshead, Hull and Barrow.

Memories of games against Swanscombe also crossed my mind on leaving the station . Most teams go from the Football League to the conference in one easy relegation we seem to have cone the long way

Great day yesterday, we have come along way, when we reformed I was lucky to play, going to places like Rusthall jumping off the minibus with your suit on and loosing your footing in the mud above your shoes, happy days! Lol well done the stones!

Don't forget, it was only 8 years ago, we were on the brink of extinction (again). That seems like a lifetime ago after yesterday's win. I still cannot believe it, I've supported the club for over 9 years and I can't remember a moment where I have celebrated quite as much as Dumaka's equaliser and of course Worgs second penalty save. I think I can speak for all of us that spent all those cold nights up in Sittingbourne and Ashford for so many years, totally been worth it. Well done the Stones, National League here we come!!!!!!

A good time to remember PBB's contribution and pay our respects for what he did.
He kept the club going for years, when it would almost certainly have died otherwise - and even managed to get us into the Isthmian Premier. Poured hundreds of thousands of his own money into the club - for no return, other than seeing the Stones continue. And last, but possibly most important of all, he found the place for our new stadium - right in the town - without which none of what we've enjoyed over the last 4 years would have happened.
Whatever happened between him and the new owners is peanuts compared to the contribution PBB made, it's time Terry and Oliver buried the hatchet and invited PBB to the JWW for our first home NATIONAL game, so we can thank him properly.
