I'd prefer it if they used the solid black with amber outline (and even ditch the outline when appropriate) whenever possible. The amber background version is a lot cheaper looking in my eyes and the fact they used the version with an amber background on the home shirt just seems like madness.
Overall though the badge has really grown on me this season, it has a more timeless quality about it than many of the other modern badges (probably owing to it being based on the 70s badge) and the fact most coat of arms style badges look really similar does give the club more of a brand.

I would prefer a transparent background as I think the amber background just looks wrong on the white away shirt.

I think the black with amber lines would look the best on the white and since that seems to be the primary version I'd personally like to see that used as the first choice unless it just doesn't work in a certain situation.

I'm still (after 36 years) trying to work out why it's called 'amber' - when it clearly isn't!

Her name is Amber. Deal with it. Her name Lola, she was a dance girl. Something about Copacabana or cococabana. Ah, who cares.

I was in America a few years ago and asked what their flashing amber traffic light meant. Blank look then oh you mean yellow!

Typical BBC.

What colour is this forum's background? On my screen it's a sort of yellow ochre. But amber is not any sort of bright/gold yellow, it's a sort of brown. Possibly a browny yellow, but essentially transparent. Absolutely nothing like our 'amber'! No one calls wasps black and amber!

Typical BBC. Much stricter rules on advertising back then. Amazed they got away with the subject matter of the song back then as well. I know it was supposed to be the swinging 60s but this is the BBC we're talking about.

The pompous gits at the Beeb probably hadn't realised what the lyrics were about until afterwards!
