I assume that if the Stones do get promoted this season, they would be required to make further ground improvements. With this in mind does anyone think that there would be enough money to strengthen the squad to the standard, and/or possibly go pro. within budget, or is the general consensus that it would be status quo and strengthen with top quality part timers?

I think most of those questions were answered in the interview that Oliver and Terry did a few weeks back.

Yes, as per the previous poster, I would suggest you dig out Stones TV's excellent interview with the directors in which they candidly discussed these issues in some detail. The basis of it was that they reckon they can build a very basic concrete terrace for around 350K to bring the capacity up to 4,000.
I think full-time is inevitable if we do go up, certainly within 2 - 3 seasons. We surely generate enough revenue from sizeable crowds, pitch hire and other income (bar, advertising, functions etc.) to justify it.

I would love to see us get promoted and see how we fare in the National League ... Not many people thought that we would be where we are now in this league after the "yoyo" start we had at the beginning of this campain ; gladly we've been proven wrong thus far. I believe that whatever was said in the interview was meant but in reality we would be better off with another season in the NLS , crowd still on the up which means guaranteed revenue to prepare us for a proper challenge for the title next year. We need new players that will make the difference and that's where we should be looking to improve ourselves. I believe that the club with the people at the helm will get us where we would all love to be but we must be a little bit more patient. Up the Stones !!

We're not getting promotion we are not good enough. We're not 3rd through luck. We're there because we deserve it. A couple of below par performances don't make us a bad side all of a sudden and we have as much chance of winning the playoffs as anyone else. Sutton will win the league and Ebbsfleet will probably be slight favourites for the playoffs, but it's only 3 games and any of the four teams have a chance.

Agreed we are 3rd on merit either Ebbsfleet or Sutton would be stronger than 'slight' favourites for the play-offs of course favourites don't always win what's expected still I think Frenchie is very much on the money

We've already beaten both Ebbsfleet and Sutton this season. I think we'd have more chance against Ebbsfleet especially as it looks more than likely that if we get to the final it'll be away. Pressure seems to be getting to the lads at home so we might be better off finishing third.

Let's not forget we've won 23 games this season so far. That's more then any other team (well until last night when Sutton also won their 23rd game).

I do not agree .. Stones have had huge chunks of luck all season I've walked away from a lot of games thinking we were lucky either to not get beat or take all three points. let's face it we've hardly set the league alight with all those 1-0...looking back we were so scared of getting beat we set up not to get beat . I've read this forum after every game and our oppositions comments I've read on here ..men v boys .....outclassed ....Way to good for us ....that was after ebbsfleet, Sutton and whitehawk, who were genuinely better than us ...Thanks whitehawk imploded of the pitch after there FA cup run we beat Sutton first game but how lucky was that win , and after scoring at Ebbsfleet we shut up shop and managed to keep them out . I've not read one single opposition forums comments about us being good and convincingly looking like title contenders . It think ebbsfleet and Sutton are very good sides .....The rest of the next ten are all much of the same ,but we're top of that bunch and well done but that is down to a lot of luck .
