Ok, early days but who do we feel deserves player of the season (so far) status?
For me it has to be Jamie Coyle. The rock in the league's best defence, a player who was not expected to be a first choice despite his obvious quality, a defender who also scores goals, a great talker on the pitch to help younger players like Mills and Parry.
Any other player beat that - so far?

Coyle has been superb, and you have to wonder why he didn't get many games last season when he is clearly the better of the options we had then.
However, player of the season (so far) for me is Callum Driver, it's hard to look to anyone other than the back 5 and Callum nicks it for me with his energy down that flank.

Jamie Coyle. His form has been a revelation, didn't realise he was that good. With hindsight he should have played more last season. Plus he doesn't give away silly free kicks, doesn't get booked and doesn't wind up the referee.

Callum has been different class right from the start this year. We look for people who would be comfortable at a higher level & Callum fits the bill. I bet player of the Second Half of the season will be Vaz though.............

Manny Parry for me he has all the defensive qualitys needed to play at a higher level. Manny has looked really good OB1, but on a few occasions recently he has been a bit 'Bambi on Ice' .....

Coyle for me too. I'm guessing the only reason he wasn't made skipper is because he has enough on his plate as coach - personally I think he'd be superb because he is already the one who talks through the game and gets the guys organised. I often stand along the river side and close to the defensive line; all through a game, Coyle is talking to his defenders, sharing his excellent reading of the game. He has been immense.

Between Worgs and Coyle for me. While what Lee does stands out for obvious reasons, Coyle goes about his business with a quiet efficiency that often goes unnoticed, a bit like Rogers last season. His reading of the game and the way he organised and encourages the defence are superb so I think he just edges it.

Archie Wrigglesworth - an assertive tackle, comfortable in possession and an accurate, incisive pass. A faultless display in his 30 seconds of game time & overly-large shirt.
[Yes, it has to be Jamie Coyle - ousting the club captain despite the latter playing well …]

I would definitely go Jamie Coyle, consistently good this season. Worgan is still up there as the best keeper at this level but pipped at this stage of the season by Coyle.

got to be found in the back 5, no disagreement there but our superb defensive record is not down to the performance of one player Coyle, Driver, Parry and Worgan have all been excellent (just ahead of Mills) Not even a sheet of bronco can separate

I agree about Jamie Coyle but for me Callum Driver edges it ... Definitely should be playing at a higher level , Thank goodness he plays for us and we must find a way to keep him here for a while longer , especially if we were to get promoted at the end of the season. Awesome , talented , an asset to this club ! Go C. D !
