So glad he didn't go to Margate. Good luck to Steve Watt - I am sure he will get a great reception when Hemel visit us in March.

Hemel are rivals?

They are in the same league. To call them rivals is an exaggeration.

If that is the case do we have any rivals in this league? I'd have thought our nearest rival is just over the hill - and I don't mean chavham.

£bbsfleet are our main rivals at the moment.
Oxford City, Whitehawk, Gosport Borough, Sutton United and Truro City are our main rivals for play-off spots this year.

But Hemel are only 5 points off Sutton and Truro, therefore with Watty in their side they may concede less goals and go above Sutton and Truro? Do Hemel then become rivals?

Maidstone and Hemel are competing with all the other clubs with the same objective or for superiority in the same division. So everyone are rivals in National League South.

Like Sennockian said it was clearly an exaggeration. Watt will do really well at hemel, good move for him.

Over the hill and a few miles to the west and I'd agree with you. If you're talking about the Medway lot, then I would suggest they haven't been our rivals for quite some time.

They are in the same league. To call them rivals is an exaggeration. Calling Hibernian a rival is an exaggeration? Any team in our league is a rival? We could dedicate a whole thread to the definition of "rival"?

Southwick is absolutely correct in his terminology and reasoning. Anyone saying anything different is wrong.

Southwick is absolutely correct in his terminology and reasoning. Anyone saying anything different is wrong. I have thought long and hard for a reason to disagree with your support of Southwick, purely because it is you. However I can't find any reason plausible or not. So you are right on this odd occasion
