Last season I ended up spending most matches at the town end amongst the die hard hooligans (meant in the nicest way I assure you). It was great fun to join in the singing and sometimes ridiculous chanting (remember this one: we'll be running round Margate with our willows hanging out). My point is he atmosphere was electric! Love it! But... I do fancy a better view of the pitch, so I got myself a season ticket in the grandstand and now I'm dreading a bit the lack of tolerance up there to kick off this kind of atmosphere - I mean they barely stood up at the final game when we wouldn't stop chanting to them to do so.
So I want to know how many of any people from the town end got in on the grandstand for this season. Or can I expect to be hanging out down there and leave a vacant seat in the grandstand?

It will never happen except for the odd chant and solitary shout. On the plus side enjoy your seat and at least you will have a decent view assured

I've tried, and there's a few others from time to time who try to get some singing going, but the only time there was a decent atmosphere in there was for the Stevenage game. You might have a bit more luck in the new bit because it will be all new people in there, whereas around where I sit it is mainly people who sat in the main stand over at Sittingbourne.

Just a thought but perhaps people in the stand want to be there as it is away from the crowds and people who drink. People who don't really want to shout (can't call it singing) all game.

Yes - away from the noise. It's not really though is it. Just a load of moaning instead of singing. It is away from the Town End hence away from the noise. There is a difference in people moaning and shouting every now and then whilst having your own space around you and being in a packed terrace. 6 or 7 years ago I would have been very p*ssed up in there myself. I no longer drink and have no desire to be around people that are and in amongst too much noise. I'll be moving to the main stand this year from the VP area and will still get an atmosphere I like being in there. I am in no way knocking the town end as they do (99%) of the time create a cracking atmosphere. I know it's not for me and probably quite few people who will be in the stand. And it IS NOT singing. I have a Welsh background and perfect pitch, they hurt my ears!
