Gosh, what frustrating responses. Clearly there are some people 'in the know', but it seems that is the way it is going to stay, particularly when terms like decency and respect are used. Whatever that means in this context, can only be guesswork. As for raking up the past, in fairness that's never been banned from this forum. Raises more questions than answers Islandstone seems to be the only member willing to share light on this mystery. You're right, there are 'some' people out there who know the truth; these are PBB, OA, TC and the relevant solicitors and accountants. Unfortunately, as I have found during research into the book I'm writing, the two parties (PBB on one side and TC/OA on the other) obviously have differing views on how the clubs' transfer from the old regime to the new actually happened and as such anyone foolish enough to put into print their 'interpreted' version of events is likely to find themselves in a whole barrel of trouble. Let's face it, one party is going to disagree with what is said in any debate about this. As an example of this, I have recently been in contact with Oliver for a 'definite' time-line of his and Terry's acquisition of the club. Oliver's first email back to me included a lot of dates and events as long as your arm; a day later this list has been reduced to just five dates/events that are suitable for publication due to confidentiality / legal reasons. And, no, I will not be revealing the extended version of events - well, not until I'm firmly on my deathbed, the last rites have been read and I know that BW is under a restraining order to keep away from me! LOL Like Tim, I have great admiration for PBB and am still in contact with him; he has been a great help with my research and has a genuine love for Maidstone United FC and wants the club to progress as far as possible. That said, he's is the club's past, TC and OA are its present and future and what they've done for the club in the last four or five years should never be underestimated or taken for granted. All three men have played their part in bringing the club to its present state and position in the football pyramid, all three men did what they had to do when no one else was either willing or able to and for that all three should have our unreserved respect. It could have been worse, Angela has just reminded me that back in 1992 we (Angela and I) came very close to buying the football club from Jim Thompson! Thank God that never happened!

Does it really matter? The future looks great.

It's useful to know one's history and the pitfalls encountered - just in case anyone decides against repeating it, though no-one (anywhere in the world, ever) seems to have learned any lessons from history yet.

There will be a small amount on sale at Hendon tomorrow, and then that will probably be it for matchday sales.
Any left over will be available for postage only (£2.90, UK Mainland only), PM or email with your address and to arrange payment
