Another excellent away result and another clean sheet, sets us up nicely for Tuesday night. Flisher seems unstoppable at the moment. COYS.

First half was a bit stale but we seemed to wake up a bit more in the second half and fully deserved the 3 points as apart from an almost unbelievable goal effort that beat Lee and rebounded out in his grateful arms, that was all that Lewes had to offer ... As they say : " A win is a win ! " So far this year , we can see the difference that this group of lads have made to our club, as the corresponding fixture saw us leaving their place empty handed last year, whereas today we fought harder for thid victory !! ... Once more congrats to Jay and the coaching staff for their carefull choice of players used and brought on ... Michael Phillips looked as pleased as punch when he scored that vital second goal !!. Maybe today everyone had too much of the Margate game on their mind and as we needed that victory to set up what can be viewed as a classic so far this year between our two clubs. Regardless of what has been said in the past, and the quality of the opposition that we have faced so far , everyone has to agree that commencing with Tuesday's game, we will be playing some of the teams that are amongst the leading pack in this League ... I totally agree too that you can only beat what is in front of you. Needless to say that it will be vitally important that we have a strong support, vocally and in bodies to create a wonderful night for our team and hopefully "nick" a result !!. Coys !! .. The Conference South beckons a step closer !!

I thought we looked good at the start and put together some promising moves only to fail with the final ball. as the first half wore on we seemed to succumb to Lewes's strangling game and we looked a little scrappy. Played a bit better second half and got the goals to win the game plus forced an excellent save from their keeper with wonderful move down the right from Simpson whose ball into the centre was met first time by Jay May. Jay May also wasted a decent opportunity when he had battled t get himself clear through in the box. It was very noticeable that Bodkin looked absolutely shattered in the second half (and was eventually taken off).
Just for the record the unbelievable goal effort that Frenchstone mentions above would not have counted if it had gone in because it was offside.
I thought the team stuck to their task and got the win in what will be one of the harder fixtures on the calender. I thought the use of substitutions was good today with Alex Brown providing more energy in place of a flagging Bodkin and you can't really argue about the substitution of Phillips for Collin when Phillips scored shortly after (I enjoyed the delight on his face immediately after he scored).
Well done lads and roll on Tuesday

Bodkin was taken off on Tuesday as well. Is he carrying an injury or something?
I've only seen a few games this season, but he really impressed. We're going to need him fit and ready on Tuesday.

Not according to Saunders interview after the game only player carrying a injury is Sonny Miles thought he was taken off to stiffen up midfield when we came under pressure in second half. Think Jay might sacrifice Bodkin for Brown against Margate for same reason.

I am a huge admirer of brown but surely you will need bodders pace and craft for the counter attack? He must play.

The only change I can see (possibly) would be to replace May with Brown or Greenhalgh and get an extra body in midfield We'll see! Excellent day out today on the coach good pubs good company and 3 points! Even enjoyed chatting with NWS in the second half! I'm hoping it was down to beer and not a long term problem I've developed!

I agree with the above. If anyone is to be sacrificed for possible change of formation Then it will be Jay may. I think we should start with same team tho (watt in if fit) as may well need may to hold the ball up !

What a great game that will surely banish the memories of last seasons visit to the Dripping Pan, a big well done to Alex Flisher on his goal, he showed fantastic composure, looking forward to Tuesday nights game down in Margate

Another solid performance, lovely town, a ground with plenty of character, and generally just a great away day. Lewes are a decent side, I don't know why they're so far down the table.
