Fair report . Thought we did well in the first half, looked sharp and took chances well. Second half really reverted back to the dreaded hoof ball. Kind of agreed with the loud mouth Essex chap in the stand that 'we were nothing special'. FWIW I thought Steve Watt was our MOM - won everything served up to him. Bit worried for Dean Pooley at full back, although he did make a tremendous clearance early on.

I thought we got the job done, on a difficult pitch against a battling side. That never gave up. 1st half was ok, 2nd half wasnt, thought our work rate was excellent we chased everything down, especially frannie and flish up top who didnt give there defence much time on the ball. Miles and watt look good and agree mom was watt.

Ok, 3 points is 3 points but that game will not live the memory for the right reason, good start two goals and then hoooooooof! The game could be summed up by a group of fasn playing 'count the pass' from both sides, when they got to 4 (once) chants of ole ole rang out but not for long, I think it reached 7! the rest of the time they struggled to get to 3, and then there was a debate if a throw on counted as a pass! Highlight of the second half was the fussy ref insisting Mickey took his underpants off before coming on as a sub, bizarre! I think imusc are after them as a raffle prize!

Agree with the last 2 sets of comments, especially about Watty, thought he was excellent. I think Jay got the game plan just about right last night, chances were few and far between but we kept it tight at the back
Credit to Jay too for getting this game played at Aveley rather than reversing the fixture to our place. As he said in his interview, we've been to Hornchurch a couple of times over the last 3 seasons needing to get a result, and have come away with nothing (but red cards) so to get the fixture out of the way AND pick up 3 points is a great nights work
- and who knows, although they weren't easy to watch, Hornchurch battled hard and back on their home patch on Saturday for the first time in months, might just undo Margit
Couldn't have asked for a better set of results for us this week with Kingstonian only drawing Monday night, Margit, Leiston and Wingate all losing last night, and Tonbridge coppin' a very unfortunate late one too. The table makes very pleasant reading this morning
When the final whistle blows on Saturday, we'll have played 9 games, 20% of the season gone already, and yet we've still to play a side that currently sits in the top half of the table. The Kingstonian game will be a good test
