Great to get an ' Independent " report so quick after the game maid. Sounds like the defence needs some sorting out before games against the Big Guns like The Hamlet and 'Dreamland ' then ?

Not at our most fluent tonight but created enough chances to have won more comfortably, sometimes wins have to ground out and 4 wins from 4 you've got to be happy. Let's keep the wins coming.

Thought we were OK in defence for a fairly new look back line, Butcher got caught out a few times but he's still learning, Coyle organised well. Flish worked hard and should have scored a couple, Bodkin looked good, Frannie took his goal well and Greenhalgh showed something different when he came on. Jack Parkinson I thought was pretty atrocious in possession - I get that he offers something defensively in midfield but he just loses the ball every single time and there was no real need for an extra defender against that opposition. Still, comfortable enough win with plenty of positives.

I thought JP was ok for the most part, apart from the stupid yellow card, and an appalling 10 minute spell in the second half when every pass went to the opposition. Also thought his reaction to being substituted was out of order.

Would be interested to see how Rogers does from the start, he doesn't seem to give the ball away at all. Good to have Phillips back too.

Bit flat tonight but can't complain I suppose 4 wins from 4 with another home game Saturday. Agree with Dave I thought at 1st his reaction wasn't great but when he walked down the line I spoke to him and he said he shouted in frustration at his own performance not about being subbed. Nice to see Franie get another goal looking better each game.

To be fair on JP I think his reaction after scoring spoke volumes in that he personally didn't feel his performance warranted a goal.
Over all I think played pretty well and could have quite easily scored a couple more, great to see both fullbacks pushing forward and joining the attack and actually I thought Butch didn't brilliantly on a number of occasions to get to the byline and get the ball across.
There is something very different about the team this year in terms of their attitude and the way they are playing, I haven't seen too many moans about constant long balls, and plan B etc. The new signings seem to have slotted in nicely, Sonny Miles seems pretty solid, James Rogers looks good when he comes on, Bodkin, Coyle and of course Jay May, all have certainly added a lot and I think Jay deserves a bit of credit for that.

My only concern tonight was the pattern of play when Jay May was on the pitch. We had a battering ram in Shaun Welford 2 years ago so I would like the players to not get obsessed with hitting the frontman all the time as Jay is a more subtle footballer and can pass as well. This is not a criticism of Jay May but more a plea to his teammates to vary play.
We defended well tonight.
PS - noticed opponents are targeting the long ball over Butcher - in both the last 2 games.

Not much to add but the yellow card for JP, if it was for back chatting, mouthing off to the ref, is inexcusable. Silly, cheap card which then stuffs the rest of his game as he has to be careful with every challenge. I'm pretty sure he was standing back a lot more afterwards when he would have got stuck in a bit more.

My first game and was mightly impressed with the whole team. If that's an off game then a good game must be a very high standard.

The most encouraging aspect of last nigh was the fact this squad is still getting to know each other and we've still won our first four matches. When this side have fully gelled(and that's not to far off),we are going to stuff a few sides.

If you remember last season, we struggled against the lower sides, hence all those home draws. This year, while not scoring enough goals our play warrants, we are at least defeating the lower end teams, so something is going right. When we do click as a team, we will be mighty!
