Good solid away win and glad to get that place out the way in better weather,( well apart from the rain shower) as i can imagaine it being a grim place to go in the colder months. Vcd offered very little in truth and Worgs barely had anything to do. Nice goal by Bodkin and a gift ffom the Vcd keeper for first We will come across a lot stronger sides this season but job done Well done Jay and the team Great start :-)

Comfortable win, probably should have had another goal or 2 but top of the league, let's keep up the positive start.

Would personally have loved an extra goal. Very efficient performance. Bodkin and Mills were superb and Jay May continues to defy the critics. Good holdup play and another well taken goal

Solid performance tonight. Great workrate from the front guys to completely kill VCD's gameplan which is all about playing out from the back. MOTM Millsy looked like his old self.

VCD had a very strange game plan. I saw a first in football tonight for me in that the main playmaker for them appeared to be the goalkeeper. Has nobody informed them that you are supposed to go up the other end and score goals?
Will mostly echo the above. Good solid win. Great goal from Bodkin and a kcock in from Jay May. Have to say that the latter won me over a little tonight. He looked a lot less static and some good attack play was built using him. I thought Millsy got skinned a few times by Ellis Green but got to grips with him better in the second half. He looked good going forward though and the point where he beat four of five players by getting a toe end on the ball was great. I thought Butcher looked quietly effective as well. I still think we need a central playmaker but the signs were encouraging, particularly the second half spell when we started moving the ball faster.

Agree with the above. Apart from a brief spell in the first half when VCD had a succession of corners we were under little pressure and VCD's idea of passing it around at the back ( before losing it / hoofing it ) was bizarre. Thought Tom Mills had a brilliant game, especially coming forward, and generally VCD couldn't cope with the through runs of Mills, Brown and Bodkin. A good time of the season to go to Oakwood and pick up some points. Thought Bryan Reed's merciless heckling of Ellis Green was a little unfair .

I thought we had another goal or two in us but I'd happily take 1-0 wins for the rest of the year providing we don't end up with a repeat of games like Thamesmead and East Thurrock last season. Bodkin looks like he could well become our most important player in my eyes.

I thought mills looked ok going forward but when he try's to come inside on his right and loses it and then out of position, secondly crossing poor from both sides I don't think for the last 10 minutes vcd had one player in maidstone half they had just gave up,good win but more goals where needed.

This post reflects my views in almost every respect. If we can't score more than two against a team of VCD's calibre, we are going to struggle against the better teams. I know we were unlucky on two or three occasions, but that happens in every match. And the Bovril was £1.50, too much, it's down to £1.30 at The Gallagher!
