A lot of issues to reflect upon but, in the final analysis, it did not look like enough of the players wanted the win badly enough today. Whatever your thoughts on tactics, the manager, the opposition etc I think you're very wide of the mark on the players wanting to win. I stood at the gate to applaud them off at the end and they all looked devastated, some had tears in their eyes. Not surprising given they've worked all season to get to here. So although from you were it did not look like players wanted to win, I'd suggest that effort from the players was far from lacking today and that they'd all have loved nothing more than to be sitting there now in the play off places with the win under their belt. Might be worth starting at a place where you give them credit for their effort rather than assuming they're not bothered!

A big ask to expect 18 and 19 year olds to run the midfield at this level, I think DP has done himself proud under some unwarranted criticism. Disappointed for Fabio who would have learnt far more playing the last few months for us rather than playing for Merstham, I hope we see him again, but I doubt it.

Might be worth starting at a place where you give them credit for their effort rather than assuming they're not bothered! I stood in the same place that you did! My applause could not have been eclipsed by yours. Trust me!!! Maybe we see different things, but I saw huge disappointment in the eyes of those players, not just in not achieving what they were aiming for, but for the fans too. However, despite the emotion at the end being obvious, I just did not see that translated on the pitch. We might all want the same things, but how we go about getting them varies. If you want to start quoting bits from other threads, quote them in full. I think that you will find that the bit that you missed out (about their players seeming to want it more) is pertinent and was evidenced most spectacularly by their endeavour in midfield. Or are you suggesting that, as a group of players, they are just much better than ours? My starting point has always been that we have achieved a great deal this season, no matter how it pans out, but I am sure that I am not the only person who could see that in the key midfield area, the opposition put themselves around much more tha we did!

The glimpses that we have seen of him would definitely suggest that. If he recovers and re-signs, that might resolve one issue

I saw the disappointment in the eyes of Frannie , Steve & JP in particular. But as other posts have said we can play with 18 - 22 year olds in midfield and achieve exactly the same again next season. If we are going to improve as a team this is the area we need to strengthen. We also need a forward that causes chaos in opposition defences when he comes off the bench - like Ade did last season.

Can someone explain to me why fabio is on loan and dan parkinson is playing in midfield , no disrespect to dan but is he a better player , we have had no creativity in midfield for a while now hence frannie playing in a deeper role and sorry but blaming the refs performance is no excuse , we are just are not good enough!. The league table doesnt lie
