The man has two arguments: 1 "you knew rules, so tough'". Anybody with an ounce of brain knorws bad rules should be changed; 2 "Either every club should have 3G or no clubs should..." The man is clearly a moron.

Argh yes the old "rules are rules" argument which is interesting coming from a man who lives in Dubai and owing to him abiding by the rules of Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs, he is only allowed to be in the UK for a certain number of days each year. Which considering his love for his football club, "rules" can indeed get in the way and so I imagine his attitude is born out of his own frustration at basically being a tax exile.
£50k for a new pitch? Yep, plenty of non league clubs can afford that sort of cash to install a grass pitch without a requirement of additional income....in fact that is more than a lot of non league clubs receive in gate receipts over a season,
He is aware his manager doesn't actually share his point of view?
I would like to ask Mr Scally what his opinion is on "matchday" experience because as an away fan at his ground over 20 years ago I wondered whether they would ever install a roof over the visiting masses. 2014 and still away fans have zero protection from the elements and yet he has an opinion on something as forward thinking as 3G.
Perhaps he also feels a little threatened by the potential we have and the prospect of a Kent football league derby sends shivers down his spine (not that he has one).
26 December 1989....Mr Scally, the first Kent football league derby can only happen once.....

Yes Mr Scally rules are rules. You should not bet against your own side losing a match or you will get a 10K fine, you must not treat the gate money at gillingham as your own pocket money. Also don't start building Stands at Priestfield without planning permission.

A photocopier salesman who got lucky. I have a number of Gillingham supporting friends. Not one has anything good to say about their diminutive chairman; at best he is tolerated, usually with a sigh about his latest antics. Mostly they have watched developments over the hill with interest and are pleased for us, and have said how 3G is the way forward for clubs like ours. How many times has he been taken to court and lost? What an embarrassment.

I see the problem ! Underneath this report is another one entitled "Gills Chairman Targets Top Seven".......clearly somebody had been tampering with his medication that day and whilst I don't want to speculate, I doubt it was Mrs Scally because as far as I was aware she's always been pretty adept at dealing with his drugs.
