The lights have gone out at Longmead with TA a goal down, the 273 in attendance won't be happy.

I noticed the budding accountant on their forum who decided to go over our figures and use it as a way of highlighting our apparent "gamble" at installing 3G.
For the record, I don't want TA to go bankrupt because the rivalry is good for Kent Football....but this shows the true cost of all the postponements.
This was a 6 pointer for the Angels and I imagine had it been played on a Saturday they could have got 500, the cost (on gate receipts alone) to the club of over 2k, add to that the game against Ebbsfleet and you're looking at around 5k......it's a lot of money for a small club.

which makes it even more non-sensical that these local clubs would vote against 3G, on the basis they don't want to play one game a season on 3G, so sacrifice a potential derby against us

TW seem pretty much in favour of 3G, and I got the distinct impression the anti feeling was more from the fans, and was actually more to do with it being us than any real disapproval of the surface itself.

That's the way I see it! Yep agree with the point about the fans and TW but it was the chairman who voted and according to that article he intended to vote against 3G as he thought voting against was in the interests of his football club. Don't be surprised if a lot if these chairmen have voted against but behind closed doors are making applications for funding to install 3G
