Is running a 5 part investigation into the national game. Today is day 2, looking at grassroots. There are a number of references to the need for more 3G, including this bit: ''there is a big push at the FA that the FA Commission is expected to accelerate for more 3G pitches'. (Only 491 in the country now). It would be good to see some evidence of the FA pushing the Conference!!

Unfortunately the FA only seems to want to push grassroots rather than step 1 & 2 of non-league football. Listening to the guy from the FA at the 3G conference he was pushing the need for more from a community point rather than a first team angle.

I would hope are aim is to have a football club that represents the town on all levels. Our first team aim high , The conference and possibly beyond. But within the set up we are a true community club catering for 'Grass Roots Football' This we can only do with a 3G pitch . The Stones have set up a model for a substitutable community club as the FA desire and should be supported for doing so. Farawaystone we can be both a grassroots club and aim high and more power to us for trying
