well, we've gone up to footie league and took a big down from it, so hence it makes stones forum!
who else though?
i think (without any research by the way):
Halifax (x2?) Lincoln (x2) Colchester Shrewsbury Barnet (x umpteen) Hereford (x2) Darlington (?) Kidderminster Macclesfield(x2?) Boston (not on the playing front either like us!) Aldershot (x2 altho once nothing to do with on field matters)
Anyone else you can think of? like i say that is just memory....

Luton won the same cup so maybe Oxford can share that accolade with them... ...until Portsmouth nick it in May

I also remember Barrow and Workington in the Football League. Also the original Wimbledon(now Milton Keynes Dons)

IIRC (it's all on wiki under re-election I think) mid-70s Wigan and Wimbledon voted in, Southport and Workington out; late 60s / early 70s Cambridge and Hereford joined the league at the expense of Barrow and Bradford PA. Previous newest member of the league joined in the 50s, Shrewsbury I think. My list is since automatic promotion came in.

Didn't Peterborough get voted in during the 50's or 60's?
edited: Posh were voted in in 1960 at the expense of Gateshead

What is the highest position a non-league team have achieved after joining the Football League?
Has anyone ever made it to the Premier League?

Of those to get automatic promotion, Yeovil's current placing is the best. Saw them lose at London Road in the 70s...
