Only just got round to reading his programme notes.
His prediction for the final table is:
Wealdstone Dulwich Bognor Hornchurch The Mighty Stones
No argument with the first two (although I'm still hoping...), but Bognor in third? I know they've had a bit of a run recently, but that's still asking a lot.
And both Bognor and Hornchurch above us?!

He does say that this was his prediction before the season started, he also puts about being wrong about a couple of the teams.

His pre-season prediction was:
Bognor Kingstonian MUFC Lowestoft Hornchurch
The one I quoted was his current prediction - presumably based on current position, games in hand, form, etc.
Hence my questioning how Bognor and Hornchurch ended up above us. (Although I suspect that Bill really thinks we'll end up 3rd, but doesn't want to jinx us!)

Quite right. I was speaking from memory and have looked again. I wouldn't like to try and predict anything in this league. Perhaps he's had a look at the remaining fixtures and seen something there?

On a straight current points + (form x remaining games) extrapolation, the end of season top 5 would be:
Wealdstone Dulwich Stones Hornchurch Bognor
(Assuming Hornchurch and Dulwich both win tomorrow.)
But, of course, football NEVER works like that!
Although Wealdstone have got such an easy run-in that I can't see them seriously tripping up, and I can't see Hornchurch, Kingstonian or Bognor getting past us either. So it's really just down to us and Dulwich again - and whoever wins in on 15 March.

Cant see Wealdstone slipping up all those games in hand so would think its theres to lose now. Saying that lose it they still could. dulwich have done well and look as strong as always and i think we will finish above kingstonians and Bognor. Not so sure about Hornchurch. Guess that will depend if we go up there in a few weeks and play well and not do a Thamesmead/ Harrow up there. Ill take 3rd / 4th and a league cup win this year It will be awful watching the playoffs if were not allowed to play in them . Big loss in income and any home playoff games i expect.

It will be a real let-down at the end of the season. My fear is that it will be confirmed that we won't be in the play-offs and this will affect the players. We need them to play at 110% from now to the end of the season - if Wealdstone or Dulwich do slip up, we need to be right on their heels. But they're only human and they're not going to put in that extra bit, or risk injury just before the summer, when it 'doesn't really matter any more'.

Any more than what? Or did you mean "anymore"?

Just to point out that 110% is 10% more than the maximum value of 100%, so it's physically impossible to exceed 100% worth of effort. As Scotty said in Star Trek "the engines cannae take any more" - or did I mean anymore? Quantum physicists would probably argue that it is possible theoretically, but let's not get into that.

This the problem when posts are so poorly written they are misconstrued, leading to arguments over nothing.

It's not an apostrophe - the phrase 'doesn't really matter any more' is in single quotes to indicate that I am referring to something others might think, but not what I necessarily think.
