[quote author=" jdl" Normally, visiting sides are fairly physical at the Gallagher and we get frustrated in response, so there's usually a fair few yellows. But today, nothing.[/quote] Only because Phillips was kept on the bench.

Always a lot quieter when the sun comes out...has been for years. Just seems everyone gets a lot more laid back as spring approaches. Great post Dave, totally agree. Just think back to the Canvey and Cray games in the cold and wet, the Gallagher was like a wall of noise!

As a town end regular it is hard to try and sing together when alot of people are more interested in looking at their phones to check other scores discuss what their having for dinner and then start slating everyone when things are not going right so lets try and unite and support the team

It is hard, Dave. In the first half in the town end there were several around us who saw hardly any of the game due to the overruling interest in plastic football. That said I'm sure you'll agree it was particularly flat yesterday...there were suggestions that this is down to the 'cloud' hanging over us regarding the pitch.
We need to recreate Kingstonian...lol

I, for one am getting utterly bored of hearing about scores at premiership games and then people jibing each other and pretending they support these sides when they have probably hardly ever been there. If they are such ardent supporters of Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea then I hope they go watch them. I'd rather stand with 500 that are interested in us. We won 5-0 on Saturday. In the past I would have been unstobbably ecstatic Yet I found my interest switching off amongst the jabber of Man C this Chelse that etc etc. Me and the Trollster were having a discussion at the HT whistle about how people pay a tenner to get in and then don't bother to watch the game or show very little interest.

I was in the right side of the town end with my son and it seemed to be more of a meeting place for people to get drunk and try and make stupid comments. It did seem to be more how are xxxx getting on ...not how was the stones doing or getting behind the lads on the pitch with the singing and support that was so needed. The game did go flat what was needed was us to sing and get behind the team, what we need to do is sing and cheer them all the way home. Let's start by getting down there on Tuesday night and show and sing our support.

It does my nut when all the what's the Chelsea score etc. What I would say Mr nws is that I spent years of my yoof on the north bank Highbury only to be priced out so to eliminate trouble from the working class types. It worked. Limited to a few games a season leaves a void then moving out of the hood down to Maidstone gave me the chance to watch the local team. Doesn't stop me being a gooner and a stones fan. 90% of people at the Gallagher have another team. You always see palace hats etc and even the odd special case wearing a s***s jacket, probably to claim a sympathy discount upon entry. Point is, you'll get banter throughout the game it's unavoidable. My answer is to ban everyone or ban talking. Or single cell solitary confinement for anyone checking a score during game play. There, job done, go home. Oh and to keep on thread and not be ridiculed by the humour police, I didn't go to the Wingate or the finchley game.

I checked my phone a few timed during the game, not for Premiership scores though...just keeping track of the top 6 in our league.

Yep...people talking, shouting, munching on pies, swigging beer, outbursts of song, and crowded ,it ruins a good day out.......

I to was in the right side Town end on Saturday, there was a group of six lads chatting away with a beer in one hand and a pie in the other,3 of them were leaning on the pitch barrier with there backs to the game, if only one of them had got it on the back of the head...Still 60 quid entry fee, 6 pies and 6 pints of beer, please come back again, we love you

Oh, that's what the chain is for. I assumed something totally different.
