Happy New Year all. We are planning a trip to the Costa del Maidstone after many, many years away in early Feb. and hope to attend the 3 home games starting on the 4th. Insider information on a decent place to stay would be much appreciated - preferably not a sleeping bag at the Town End or the Local Nick.!!!

Without shilly shallying, I suggest the Hilton Hotel on Bearsted Road - easy access off Junction 7 of the M20, 5 minutes to the ground, and a nice pool for a dip (you'll be missing the warm ocean) so long as some kid hasn't been sick in it, as happened last time we stayed there. As you live in Bermuda, I assume the budget is limitless!

If it's limitless you can always use one of my spare bedrooms. There's even a hot tub in the garden.

Heathside has several spare rooms in his 3 storey Aylesford mansion
Assuming he avoided the floods in the end he might be worth a shout (depending on your budget)

try this, its a good starting point www.trivago.co.uk Dial in your dates and 'Maidstone' and you'll be able to see all that the county town has to offer! It gives you things like star ratings, who's offering the best price for each given hotel and maps showing the respective locations

Contrary to popular belief there are a few of us ex pat peasants left in BDA that just manage to live on a shoe string ( not the referring to the bikini kind ! ) Thanks for all the suggestions - White Rabbit sounds good since my Dad used to work at Invicta Park for 36 Eng.Regt. Budget wise it would be more like B & B ( with a fish pond? ) - but not in Herne Bay ! BA are taking every last penny!! Just two further questions - 1 - Is there a dress code for the terraces - are Amber and Black Bermuda shorts allowed so that NWS can pick out an Oldie or would it be too cold? 2 - What's the odds on 3 straight wins for The Stones in a week ? - just asking, so hopefully, we can gamble a bit and pay for the air fare back! Really looking forward to seeing the Stones play back home - hope it doesn't b***** snow !!

To be honest, the odds on 3 straight games actually getting played are fairly remote, especially if any of them are away from home. The Gallagher pitch has stood up to the recent deluge magnificently, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the vast majority of pitches. In fact on New Years Day not a single game in our division survived the weather.
