I think there's too many other strong teams to let us make a gap. We've got tough games coming up too.

Would have to agree I think November will define our season....Mind you I couldn't be happier with the position we are currently in and long may it last

I agree Toon, not helped by the suspensions of Micky and Brownie for the Hornchurch game.
However if my understanding is correct the league game against Dulwich will get postponed if either (or both) get through to the next round of the trophy.

They will both miss the Leiston game on the 9th November. Not Hornchurch .

Yes the same bells were heard last year. I was only going by what Jay said in his interview after Saturdays game, I would be happier if they miss the Leiston game

It would be great to be able to play that fixture on a Saturday with both teams occupying the top two places as I'm sure there would be another bumper crowd for us, more so than if it gets put back to a Tuesday in the middle of winter. I'm surprised at just how well the Hamlet are doing. The Dulwich squad is still very similar to the one that got us promoted. Eleven of the 16 on duty for last Saturday's win against Billericay have been with us since the start of last season and two others since late last season. Of the three newcomers only one was in the starting XI. Not sure how long we can keep it up. We're playing really well but the games are much closer and much tougher than in D1S. Cray were very poor, Carshalton were mediocre, but everyone else I've seen (I missed the away games at Thamesmead and Bury) has given us a run for our money.

I didn't think it would take too long for PP to be on the scene !
But I think the 2 clubs from Ryman South have caught the Ryman Prem big boys a little cold, and as much as Lowestoft, Wealdstone and Hornchurch thought the path was clear for them to challenge for the title I don't think they thought Dulwich would be one of their toughest obstacles.
I'm of the opinion that we are much stronger this year, although our performances haven't always lived up to that. But having brought in Frannie Collin, Lee Worgan, Zac Attwood and Orlando Smith we have improved on a number of positions.
I still reckon we'd bring quite a few (although not quite as many as last year) if it was played midweek

But having brought in Frannie Collin, Lee Worgan, Zac Attwood and Orlando Smith we have improved on a number of positions. I still reckon we'd bring quite a few (although not quite as many as last year) if it was played midweek I thought the Hamlet might be exposed as a little lightweight in the Premier Division, but so far we're still giving teams the runaround by retaining possession for long spells, tiring them out, then catching them with swift thrusts forward. We haven't really found an ideal replacement for Danny Carr at centre forward. Paul Vines was a spectacular flop. We then picked up a lad named Marcel Henry-Francis who was released by Birmingham City in the summer and was on the bench for them in a League Cup tie against Leeds last season. Sometimes he looks the part but (unlike Carr, who was bombed out by Reading last year) I'm not sure he really appreciates how hard he's got to work to make an impression at this level and get himself back into the Football League. Most recent new striker is Joel Ledgister, who was in our youth team around the same time as Ellis Green about a decade ago and has played regularly for various Premier Division clubs in recent years, but Gavin Rose's preferred choice in the number 9 shirt seems to be Ian Daly, a very gifted ball player who was in Manchester City's academy and won Ireland U21 caps, but he's more of an attacking midfielder than a true striker. Daly was the only new player since last season in our starting XI last Saturday. Collin seems to have been a prolific goalscorer for a number of years at Dover and Tonbridge and in remember Worgan playing a blinder against us for Hastings the season they were promoted via the play-offs from D1S. Of those three other teams you mention, we certainly caught Lowestoft cold on the opening day of the season and fully deserved to beat them 2-0 despite playing nearly half the game a man short after Green was dismissed for retaliation. I had to laugh at some of their supporters on their forum dismissing us as no better than mid-table also rans who would do well to finish above half way. We didmn'[t play anywhere near our best on the day and if I hadn't known that they'd been play-off finalists for the last three seasons and just signed Canvey Island's best two players in the summer I'd have written them off as relegation fodder on the basis of their performance against us! Hornchurch were a streetwise and somewhat dirty side who made us look a bit naive, but aprt from scoring one sensational goal and taking advantage of a couple of defensive lapses to win 3-2 they didn't actually look any better than us. We've yet to play Wealdstone.

I'm surprised that you thought Hamlet couldn't be up there. They play good passing football, which will always trouble other teams and that little midfielder is top notch. As for the loss of Danny Carr...we discussed that on your forum last season and I told you that he was rubbish. I guess I have been proven right and your forum administrator's silly doctoring of my post was nonsense Wealdstone are the strongest team I have seen so far this season and will, I believe, be in the mix at the end of the season.

There are not only 2 horses in this race . There are 6 horses with a 10-1 chance or better.
The other 2 horses are 12-1 so not what I will call huge outsiders.

I thought hamlet could finish in the top ten (and we may yet slip down the table, although I'm becoming increasingly confident of making the play-offs now) but I never expected such a flying start: 32 points from the first 14 matches is a lot more than we had at the same stage last season a division lower. I don't think many of us expected to hold on to so many of our best players. In fact we've kept everyone we wanted to except Carr. (I didn't see your posts on our messageboard before they were removed, but if you said he was rubbish you were the one talking nonsense!) Danny Carr wins the ball in midfield and makes the run to create this goal: www.pitchero.com/clubs/dulwichhamlet/videos/dulwich-win-the-championship-with-this-goal-by-xavier-vidal-dulwich-hamlet-1--1-burgess-hill-town-on-the-2742013-39661.html Plenty more clips of similar Carr contribiutions on our club website if you're still not convinced.

Oh Richie, what is it about Danny Carr that seems to bring out such sensitivities at The 'Amlet. I was referring to a post I put on your board entitled 'Danny Carr is rubbish'. I made it very obvious that it was in jest but it still got doctored and the admin had a right ol' pop. It was meant to be a bit of fun in the lead up to the 1-1 draw last season. One person laughed and said somthing witty back while the admin and others took it very seriously.
