Had I noticed this thread on the day I would have mentioned where I was off to. Liversedge v Dunston Northern League Division 1 East. 'Sedge are my nearest reasonably senior team and ply their trade a couple of tiers (at least) below NLS. It was a heavy pitch and my first home game since 21st November, mostly due to frequent postponements - waterlogged for a few weeks, then frozen - although the odd Leeds game has got in the way. Anyway, 'Sedge are in patchy form in mid-table, and Dunston were sitting pretty in third with sufficient games in hand to go top with the right results, but despite the ref trying to book his seat on the team coach for a lift home, 'Sedge came through with a 2-1 victory with Dunston's equaliser (from the spot) and 'Sedge's winner both coming in the last two minutes of normal time. The ref really pushed his claim for his seat by playing seven minutes of injury time despite a trainer never coming on to the pitch, but ultimately failed. I hope he had to walk home. Speaking of dodgy refs, earlier in the season that old PL ref Jon Moss reffed a game here. He was bloody awful
