If one single commentator or pundit mentions the romance or magic of the FA cup over that weekend then they should be castrated slowly without anaesthetic

I'm often told I am ultra negative and a glass half empty guy well to think that we would be chosen for TV with such a shit draw you would need a glass that is full and a dozen more overflowing as back up. It was never going to happen so it's pointless getting upset about it It was no more shit than any of the games they have chosen that you can watch every week on sky. There’s something very wrong with the game if non-league teams gave to draw one of the big boys to get on TV You are right Dave there is something very, very wrong with football and its called money. I was reading the FA website earlier and replays from r3 will be abolished and games will be switched to midweek to help the Premier league teams out plus the final will no longer be the last game of the season. The Premier league is f**king the FA right up the arse and it would not surprise me if the BBC and ITV were given the TV rights providing they pick Premier teams thus relieving any other league of any money. The worst thing about it all is the Prem teams will probably play their reserves or youth players cos they are not really interested in the competition.

You can moan and groan all you like swordy but we're still in the FA Cup with plenty to look forward to. We may be underdogs but we've still got half a chance of getting through to the 4th round. Expect another big gate, perhaps even a sell-out. After Bivesh winning the BBC'S goal of Round 2, anything can happen. Happy days (for some of us anyhow)

Tbh I'm happy that we get to see the match in the afternoon rather than a time that suits armchair critics.

The magic of the Cup - one of the big clubs always wins it.
Up to R3, sometimes R4, it's got some interest for those who support clubs outside the PL and Championship - even a little of the 'magic' they drone on about. But after that, it's just an inevitable elimination procedure, until you end up with the usual rich PL clubs fighting it out between them.
It's effectively the PL League Cup - with some largely irrelevant circus attached before the PL are involved. I'm probably out of date, but the last time I cared enough to check, the last non 1st Div//PL club to win it was the Mighty Hammers. And that was 44 seasons ago...

Like others here, the premier league doesn't capture my attention these days, bar just checking the results, but I do that for all leagues. Following from who was the last PL club to win the cup, how many times since it's inception has one of the PL big clubs - Manchesters, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs NOT won it?

Just imagine your face though deadly when the 4th round draw gets us Eastleigh away but then I suppose we have half a chance again of getting to round 5. I wish the club nothing but the best of luck my problem us I seem to have fallen out of love with the game and I'm finding that I'm not missing it as much as I thought I would and by all accounts my name is Mudd within the club because I've been standing up for supporters rights which they don't like because they don't like you, don't care about you and all they want is your money. As Mr Jones(and not Wilson) says "Theyy don't like it up 'em" but for every mistake they make and every time they shit on supporters heads I will be in their earholes letting them hear some home truths and I'll do it because nobody else has the guts to do it,anyway minor rant over COYS!

Absolute disgrace. I’m sure Arsenal,Liverpool,Tottenham and Man Utd need another £85000 or I can’t see how they will financially survive !! Here's the thing, the £85k is meaningless to any of the clubs in the six games selected. Ok maybe not Everton If the FA wanted to do something positive about this, how about not paying the PL and Championship clubs in the six fixtures the tv money? £85k x 12 = £1.02m If we were to take that £1.02m and distribute it between the 20 qualifiers from the 2nd round that would be £51k each. If a qualifier is on tv then they get their £85k and those not on tv get a bit less. It's far fetched, but lets not forget that the club that loses the Championship play off final gets both clubs' gate money as the winners are going to be rolling in it. That's not a rule it's a gentleman's agreement, why can't the FA broker something similar?

The magic of the cup is not about money though really. I'd like to be on TV so people far and wide can see what we are about and it is good publicity for the club. Obviously the cash is needed by us much more than any of the league clubs need it.
You can guarantee they would have picked Southend though!

I have it on good authority that if Liverpool,Manchester City and Manchester United lose that Everton will be deducted a further 10 points.
