First home game I’ve missed in ages. Not in protest or outrage. It was just too much hassle to get a ticket, when their fans could order one online, because you know, it’s the 21st century now. Being evicted from the home end to accommodate away fans. The thought of standing among over excited teens thinking playing a random youth team means anything. Avoiding their dodgy teens after the game. My non attendance means nothing. But it does set a precedent in my life choices. There is a random family event tomorrow. It no longer feels unthinkable to not attend a rare home game this season. Could that become a habit? Just as the club and fans are healing after the disaster that was last season, they choose to treat regular paying customers with disdain. I won’t suddenly stop going, but missing a game is now an option. I was due to have a camera down the throat tomorrow which has be cancelled but the weather outlook has swayed my decision to stay away. Last season I only saw 1 home game ,a 2nd game I got my money back and left before kick off. I realised last year that I didn't miss football half as much as I thought I would and that included non Maidstone games,in total I only saw 9 games all season. For me the love of this club has been slowly eroded since we turned pro fessional and decided to act like a Billy Big Bollocks club, which we are not . Combine this with the silly money we are having to pay to get in to pay ridiculous wages to players and having to travel 100's of miles to away games at huge cost, well its all too much for me now and even though I hate our yoof fans I realise now that watching us both home and away is for the young not silly old farts like me. I don't use the Genco, never will but if I had I would have been apoplectic on Tuesday and I would have made a scene and I would have been thrown out, there is no doubt about that. I have sent 2 unanswered emails to the club the second of which calls for John Harvey to be removed from his position at the club,it is obvious that he is out of his depth. As I said the club has chosen not to reply and so I choose not to attend. I hope its a great game for all that go,I will probably be listening at home in the warm and dry with an ice cold beer. I hope to be at Welling and WSM but would not be surprised if I don't make either, WSM is an expensive day out but I'm willing to pay it for a new ground and Welling is easier to get to and from than Maidstone, we just need enough people now to run the WSM coach but I'm not hopeful,it may have to be a train jobby.COYS! I've been similar thinking to you and Bernie for years now. It started with the Stevenage away game. Until then, I tried to go to everything I could get to. I wasn't allowed to buy a ticket for it because I'd turned up after 3pm at the home game where you could get tickets (no fault of mine). Then, after making a Herne Bay to Maidstone journey for 9am on the Sunday (at club advice) , was told I couldn't get one until 12. I couldn't stay (I had work at 12). It was my one morning off with my daughters and I lost it to a wild goose chase for a ticket. At that point, I questioned why I put so much effort in. I didn't bother turning up for months and now I'm much less fervent in support. It's treated as fun rather than religion now.

It does seem like the club need to remember who they should be looking after. I feel sometimes we are taken for granted as we will always come back.
The Genco thing was a decision made with the police, fair enough. Id rather see less tickets sold to away fans then. I know it all stems from the inability of two sets of fans to not throw things at each other.
As for the ticket situation for various games in the past 10 years. It makes you feel like you are going to Celtic Rangers.

Sword, I don’t think John Harvey is out of his depth. He’s just one of those people you give a little authority and they turn it into the biggest most important job in the organisation they work for. I remember him from when I was a coach at South Park Rangers strutting around as if he was the most important person at the club.

Its you that's most important, Davy, and we all love you

Sad but your miss Sword. At last we have a team worth the money to watch. Usually every team has its whipping boy but this season every player is giving his best and the passing football has been a pleasure to watch. We have even had our share of luck.

I'll still be about but my disabilities and health problems play a major role in whether I am up to making the effort to attend or not.Tomorrow I think I'd rather settle down to watch the cricket instead of getting soaked on the way to the ground.

Good decision Sword. 90 mins of mediocre football with no shots on goal followed by 7 minutes of action which saw a well taken Levi goal, 3 good saves and 3 cleared off the line. Why did we leave it til extra time to put their goal under pressure. Why was Sol not playing from the start. The game changed after he came on.

Was having a look at my transport to Chesham from Waterlooville......and it just shows you how different it can be..... Havant to Chalfont & Latimer (Nearest national rail station) going into Victoria then Underground Marylebone and then rail to Chalfont - off peak return - £57 + £5.60 underground to Chesham Havant to Victoria (easier that weekend then Waterloo as Petersfield to Guildford is Rail Replacement Bus) - off peak return £22.50 + £9.50 underground to Chesham..... Buys me a few pints and some food! EDIT - just looked the £4.80 tube fare is exactly the same route / trains that the first ticket wants to charge me £30 for
