My goodness don’t you all get yourselves in a right old tiff when I deliberately say legend to wind you all up!
Ok as you’ve started it yes OF COURSE a true Stones Legend is a long timer like Worgs or Millsy or Flish or Smokey Gall or Steve Butler- and many others. I thought that was so obvious it didn’t need to be stated.
My mischievous other use of “legend” is for those players so really enjoyed and loved watching as they had that something even if they were only here five minutes - relatively speaking.
Like Luque And Vas And Pigs And players like Dave Crush RIP And John Daubeny I.e stones players who were just - well - “different” in some way or another! Know what I mean?

Every 2 - 3 months someone will call someone a legend and it causes the same debate to take place. It's a personal thing so you won't reach consensus. Was Stuart Lewis a legend? No.

Legend means being famous and well known. On that basis I would say there is no such thing as a Maidstone United legend

Marshy was a legend tonight. Shame he kept wanting to sing the same song all the time. Great support from the Genco tonight.

It's an oxymoron - the word 'legend' is usually taken to imply a certain length of time. For example: Worgan - legend, and not just for 'that' penalty save, but for all he did in his long service for the club. Covolan - hero for keeping us in the game at Ipswich and great goalie, but not a legend after just one season. "a certain length of time" can be 10 days, or 10 years. There is no set timespan on becoming a legend. Its all personal opinion, so if 1 person see's a player as a legend, he's a legend. Only to that person.

Only to that person. Yeah so he's a legend. Not everyone see's Henry as an Arsenal legend. But it doesn't mean he's not a legend. I bet there aren't many spurs fans who would call Henry a legend, but he still is. So Luque is a legend.

Squabbling about trifling semantics related to legend qualification may be his idea of an enjoyable pastime but like smoking, it can damage your health. Anyhow, one nws on this board is already more than enough !

I see Dan Sweeney scored last night for The Honourable Artillery Company in the Surrey Premier Cup against Tooting Bec. At least I assume it was him, but there can’t be more than one D Sweeney, can there.
