The Beckenham Town manager was asked by the players to approach the chairman and ask for more wages. The manager approached the chairman who told him politely to "f**k off" and so he did by resigning immediately and leaving without even telling the players the answer was an emphatic NO! Happy days!š¤£ Well, they are top of the Isthmian League south east division, so maybe they deserve it. But with an average attendance of 237, maybe Beckenham Town just canāt afford higher wages.

Strange goings on at Blyth Spartans. Blyth ,who were relegated from NLN last season and now sit in last place in the NLP,have been put up for sale by their chairman of 5 months. The chairman blames the supporters for their constant moaning and boycotts of games. He,along with other club officials, have left the club immediately causing tomorrows home game to be postponed as the club does not have sufficient hierarchy and support staff to let the game take place. I always thought you just needed players. I would ask Scooby for a clearer picture but I think he's still looking Far and wide for his dummy.

In the interests of a possibly fairer but at least a fuller picture, albeit just from the Chairmans viewpoint, here is his full statement.
Admittedly some of his 'statements' do look more than a shade questionable.
Dear Fans, Members, and Sponsors,
I am writing to inform you that, after careful consideration and in light of the ācurrent situationā with the ongoing boycotts, and protests, I have decided to sell the Football Club with immediate effect.
I would also like to announce I am in advance stages with a potential sale to a strong party who have the means, and capacity to take the club forward. We will keep you updated with the sale progression accordingly.
I took over a ādistressed assetā in May this year, (2 days before relegation) in a desperate attempt to save the club which was clearly in a very difficult situation both financially, and with stability, having avoided relegation over the past few seasons before we took over that you are all aware of (thanks to COVID restrictions)
Despite Tony Platten writing off a Ā£700,000 directors loan which he accumulated over a 25 year period, the Club needed ongoing financial support, with the skill set to stabilise, improve, and grow.
This was an exciting and extremely challenging project that I had agreed to take on with my team.
Proof of funds, along with an effective plan of execution was delivered to Tony Platten ahead of the takeover.
We set out a 5 year plan and hit the āreset buttonā almost immediately upon arrival.
The plan would have helped stabilise the club, add value, and accelerate in challenging competitions for the future growth of the Football Club over time.
In the short 6 months we have been here, I invested in the team with an initial cash injection by increasing the playing budget from previous years and built a team of 22 players.
Taking relegation into account, attracting higher end players was not a simple task, nor was keeping a hold of some of the squad players we were left with upon takeover.
We took over with 2 players, and had a very short period to build a competitive team of 22 for the upcoming season.
The boycotts and protests are not only damaging the reputation of a long standing and historic football club, but equally having a strong financial impact towards the sustainability and the future of the club.
We lost some key members from our team due to unfortunate circumstances, but we stood strong and pushed for the better of the Club, its future, and itās amazing fan base.
Some of our key wins in the short 6 months I have been here:
Ongoing Investment for sustainability. Adding value by engaging with cooperates, local businesses, and community partners across Northumberland Joining alliance with the UK Armed Forces demonstrating inclusion, diversity, recognition, and an open door policy for our military veterans. Significant Increase in sponsorships across the Football Club. 15 new businesses added within a 6 months period. Stadium repairs, Club Shop upgraded with new fixtures and fittings, Hospitality room, and player changing rooms also renovated. Furthermore, I have personally injected a cash sum of Circa Ā£63,000 via director loans to date as an investment, and took on additional costs totalling over Ā£100,000 towards the sustainability and growth of the Football Club as I had initially commited. And for the avoidance of doubt, I will be writing off all the loans before the Club is handed over to any new owners.
Lastly I would like to request you continue to support this amazing Football Club, and keep backing the players. There is over 30 games to go, and a few wins with strong support will get us out of the relegation zone.
You have a very enthusiastic first team manager who is continually improving the team, and will also drive them with passion and dedication to get the results we need.
This is your Club, and the club needs you now more than ever.

Shame, Iāve had a soft spot for Blyth since I saw them beat Consett 4 - 0 in 1975.

What an excellent piece of communication from chairman to supporters. There are many clubs, at all levels, that could learn a hell of a lot from decent stewardship like this.

Gillingham hadn't lost a game at home in a year and have now lost their last three home games in a row. No wins in six and out of the play off spots.

Visited Mousehole harbour by boat. There is a public convenience on the Quay, with a sign attached " No dumping". I kid you not!

The Northern League Premier Midlands division have suspended Walsall Wood fc for breaches of League rules and failing to fulfil the last 3 fixtures. Club officials are rallying around to try and keep the club afloat but its not looking good.

If i remember rightly then Mousehole FC (new ground no.259) is up a slight hill amongst green fields overlooking the village a few hundred yards away and the sea a few hundred yards beyond that. My memory is not 100% but I think i paid Ā£1.50 to get in an the 8 page programme was 20p.Happy Days!š

Another Northern club in deep trouble this time it is Farsley Celtic who have agreed a groundshare with Buxton around 65 miles away. This will deter many fans from attending and so the financial situation is only going to get worse. The arrangement is until January so maybe there is the chance of moving back home then if they haven't folded.

Except the village it overlooks is actually Paul - Mousehole itself is a mile away, on the coast, down a steep hill. Presumably you were there a few years ago? It's probably changed a lot - lights and things now! The club is financed from the profits of a caravan site in the field they own next door, so they have the money to move up through the leagues, but with most away clubs so far away, travel costs will be the deciding factor (even in the SL D1S, they only have two 'local' rivals - the rest are between 80 and 230 miles away!). Going up one step to the SP S would be OK, as it covers much the same area, but the next step up (NS) would be horrendous, even ignoring the other extra costs - ground upgrades, etc - even Truro is 30 miles away, and the round trip to Torquay is 200 miles.
