As things stand, this will be our 9th defeat in a row. I'm pretty sure this is a club record. It might even be a NL record... It was already 9 league defeats in a row: Woking, Alty, Dorking, Daggers (twice), York, Wrexham, Aldershot, Torquay Dover lost 9 in a row last season (ending that run with a 1-1 draw away to Yeovil !) Hyde, in 2013/14, lost 12 in a row, broke that sequence with a 2-2 draw at home to Nuneaton, then lost the next 9. [North Ferriby's worst run was 8 in a row in 2016/17]

I was trying to do three things at once!

Looking at the table, Dorking could be joining us back in the National South next season.......they look in real trouble. On four game form (which I think is the more accurate), they are below us! And the only reason they are above us in the six game table is because they beat us six games ago! They are having a very strange season - bottom of the table on goals conceded, but 6th on goals scored! (We are second from bottom on conceded and 16th on scored.)

Kind of. Good to break the cycle of league defeats Well done lads for not giving up and breaking the losing streak. Well done big George. Let’s try and build on this and start to string some results together and build the crowds back up. We may still go down but it least it may now be with more of a roar than a whimper. COYS!

Hard to know what to make of the game from the highlights - a handful of chances, plus the goals and not much else. Fine header from JBR for the equaliser and suspect Hak would not have been happy about their second goal. George neither I guess, but he keeps such things within the changing room. What George does do is talk a lot about tactics and seems he tries hard to set up the team to nullify each opposition. Better than Hak's "work hard and then work harder" ethic, though George does say that as well. Hopefully, the team will very much be up for the trip to Eastleigh, where we were doing fine last time until the sending off. Keep all eleven on the pitch and we may have a chance, especially as it will be just one game from Wembley after that.

Then there is the quarter final and 2 legged semi final so 3 more after Saturday.

Oops. Make that four then. Seems that there there is always at least one club that is struggling in the league, who go deep into a cup competition. Not sure many win it though.

We've never got beyond the quarter final, even in the days when we were a leading NL (Conference) club and no ex-EFL sides were in it. So don't get your hopes up.

Surely not, didn’t Mike George write a book saying we won it? Must be true!

Semi Finals no longer a 2 legged affair since the Covid seasons Swordy, 1 game winner take all home team decided on whose first out the hat in the draw. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022%E2%80%9323_FA_Trophy
