Also, as response to Stones Live question - footballers who have the same name as comedians - they missed the daddy of all comedian footballers: Lee Evans at Ipswich!

We are still the same team but just with an inexperienced manager. You need more in this league. We are where we are because we are poor.

Missed the second half but wasn't full of hope from the first. We need to prepare for National South

Well the only good thing about that game was I only wasted £9.75 to stream instead of twenty quid plus to attend in person. Oh yes and I stayed in the warm, with a couple of beers for company. How can we be so awful after the previous two games? If this is what we will face when playing sides around us, we will be dead and buried by the end of February. We have now conceded 65 goals, even more than Dorking and nine more than Scunthorpe, who are just two points behind, with two games in hand. Bottom of the league, here we come. Can we concede 100 league goals over the season? Well on the way it seems. The last time we won was 26 November and we have now lost eight league games on the bounce. Good luck picking the bones out of this performance, George. I fear your honeymoon period will be very short indeed.

We were awful, compared with Saturday. Spoke to Tom on way out. Not good for him- he’s a splinter of bone in his elbow that will need an op. He’s got a scan Thursday. Clearly he’s in pain.

Aldershot were all over us like a rash from the first minute. Deacon should have been swapped for Lawson after 15 minutes but there was no tactical reaction at all! If I didn't have a season ticket I'd be done with this season FFS.

Well, at least we know one thing after tonight - we're going down.
I feared the worst when I saw that George had fallen for the old 'Christie played so well that he deserves to start' nonsense. He's an impact sub, and a bloody good one too, but there's no point in him starting - unless you're really determined to play Barham up front on his own...
Then it was kick and rush, interspersed with bouts of head tennis. Apart from one five minute period in the second half, it was like watching one of Hak's teams.
f**king reality - dontcha just hate it?

I can't fathom the difference in performances. It's the worst contrast I can remember between the 'never say die' of Wrexham to this soulless game. We played from minute one as if we were expecting to lose.
What's happened? Jack and Roarie did not wake up this morning having forgotten how to finish. Despite the floodgates opening at the back; and a lack of control in midfield, we still created a bunch of chances. Has the takeover falling through brought them back to earth?
I suppose if we can fall that far in one game, George is the only person who could get them going again for Torquay. I do fear we are running out of chances, though.

Not really sure what to say about that. All the self belief that was there in spades against Notts County and Wrexham was gone like a puff of wind. There were a couple of spells when they played some decent football but for most of the game it was back to hoofball. One attempt on target says it all really. Lawson was dropped to the bench (what does he have to do to get a full game) and by the time he came on the game was over. I was hoping he'd get on at half time but the only change was Jobe for Ellul. Defensively we were poor especially down the left. Could we have swapped Jerome and Ryan? Jerome got caught out a few times at the back and Ryan was getting nothing out of their right back so it might have been worth a try. On the whole a night to forget.

I wondered if it was the takeover falling through as well, the difference was so stark. Maybe that cast a gloom over the whole club and George and the team picked it up? But that doesn't account for the odd way that George set them up tonight. Maybe it was just a new manager bounce, after all, and now it's over and we're back to normal? Whatever - not only are we going down, but we could well be going down for the second season in a row as the bottom team. I haven't checked - because I'm too depressed - but I think that'll be a NL record. Ah well, maybe 4 clubs will go bust between now and April...

Jerome had the worst game I can remember. With him and Deacon both out of form and no Christie to come on, we lost our creativity completely. Even Galvin was out of form tonight, but he was still probably our best player.

With the amount of games all the teams down the bottom have in hand, tomorrow's game is a must win, if we lose I think that's us pretty much gone. Now 7 points from safety and 5th from bottom, Oldham have 4 games in hand. We're down, we aren't getting out of this mess.
