Would the majority of Maidstone fans be content with a Yo-Yo club over the next ten years?

How about just going back part time and staying in this league like Wealdstone does.
Sorry, but I really don't buy that a club getting crowds of 2000, and making money from the 3G pitch can't afford to stay in this league.

Altrincham & Maidenhead are other teams well known for not spending silly money, yet they can stay in this league perfectly fine.

Remember reading in the non league paper recently that only Maidenhead has a smaller playing budget. But I guess no one is really sure.

I am happy with a side that flits beteuern these two leagues. I this k we can establish ourselves in the NL. The worry is, social media being how it is, there will always be pressure from the idiots. If we are mid-£table tenth for three seasons people will want the owners out, saying they have no ambition. Where does it end.

Its not just about the size of the budget, it is how you spend it.

We need to stay here I'm sure Dartford when they got relegated in 2015 thought they would quickly get promoted again, yet here they are in their 8th season still in the National South.

Our natural home is the NL, and I see no reason why that shouldn't be. We have an excellent ground and facilities, good owners, and better support than many regular NL clubs.
I see this season not as a failure on the pitch, but as a failure of club and team management. After our three season NL baptism of fire, and last year's championship season, we should not be looking at another disastrous, throwing in the towel, relegation season, first time back.
After all, even after going up 'by accident' last time, with a part-time squad and a rookie manager, we managed to survive two seasons (and may have survived more had the owners not panicked). This year, with a seasoned manager and championship winning side, we have looked dead cert for relegation almost from day one. That simply should not be happening.
I accept, of course (I've watched football for 50+ years, after all) that you get good and bad seasons, so the odd dip back into the NS is to be expected (and even enjoyed). But what I cannot accept is the shite we've had to watch this season - watching games without hope, week after week. If we're going to go down, let's at least fight and try to stay up. Let's take it right to the wire, not look like we're down and out by Christmas.
In the last 7 years, we've had two good cracks at the NL, two indifferent NS seasons and one championship-winning season - not bad at all. But we've also had to endure two hopeless NL relegations seasons - both of which were entirely unnecessary and could have, if not been avoided, at least involved some fight and hope.
So NL, yes. NS occasionally, OK. But please no more gutless bloody relegation seasons.

Wealdstone have a magnificent clubhouse that is used 7 days a week with live acts of all descriptions whereas we have a soulless barn that has the odd quiz.Wealdstone clubhouse has decent beer and is used by the whole community, we have shit Sheps beers and if you want to stage any entertainment you have to hire it. We do not make the most of our barn and let's face it the Spotfire lounge is one of the worst, if not the worst, social club in non league football. That is one reason Wealdstone have more money than us.
