Can I nominate JDL for the Stones 'Mr Grinch' award ths Christmas. I appreciate that he has 2/3 close contenders, but strangely enough the early season favourite (swordy) is just not in the running. That is because I am taking this season off from spectating as a whole just the odd game here and there but I'm sure if I'd been to my normal amount of games I would be vying with Jdl for gold medal in the grinch category.

Watching the highlights proved just as painful as the the stream last night. The defence made a complete Horlicks for the first goal after the keeper parried the shot, it was one v four and their striker won. After that, I counted at least seven clear goal scoring opportunities for us against no more than three for them, until the sending off that is. After that, we more than held our own for 25 minutes and could have scored again. Quite why we couldn't stick the ball over the stand after that is anyone's guess and no doubt why Hak was frustrated. In addition, both of Greenidge's yellow cards looked soft, while why the ref didn't stop play when Corne was injured, yet did it several times for Dorking - when we were in attacking positions - is just another straw in the haystack of key decisions going against us and which just seem to grow and grow. However, given we get someone sent off on a fairly regular basis, you'd think there would be a bit of practice on how to cope with that in training - just like taking corners and attacking free kicks, which, let's face it, we are also crap at. This is the players' job and they should be well drilled in such things by management. They shouldn't need telling! The fact that they do (and still do it badly), doesn't reflect well on management and coaching. A headteacher once told me he didn't care whether staff liked him or not, but he did want their respect. Does Hak have the respect of his players? After the last few games, I'm far from convinced and if that respect isn't there, then things can and will unravel. Ever more challenging times ahead, I fear.

Sometimes, in fact quite often, when shit happens, it is the fault of those at the sharp end. In other words the players. For fucks sake, stop moaning.

Here we go again, lets sack the manager and roll the dice. Some people never learn from previous mistakes I refer to fans like that as football fuckwits, those that demand managers get sacked or the board to leave. Unless there is someone out there with the money to buy the club to take them in the right direction then we are thankfully stuck with Ash and Casey (And as has been said elsewhere the only person who showed any interest in buying the club was more looking at the land where the ground sits to develop it for housing etc, which would have put the team out of business). Unless there is a better manager who can come in (WITHIN our budget) then we are likely to stay with Hak for the season, getting a new manager who is not going to change anything is a waste as you have to buy out Hak's contract as well as his backroom staff as the new manager would want a new backroom staff. And once the changes have been made what makes you think that the team will perform any better, the biggest issue is the players switching off in the later part of games, resulting in so many late goals being conceded, THAT is a mentality thing with the players thinking oh we've kept it tight thus far only a few minutes left i can let up, then we concede again.

Isn't that up to the manager to sort out? Also, I have no doubt that there is a clause in all managers' contracts that allows the club to get rid of them if they are not performing well.

There's a bit of self-deluson going on here. The boys didn't play the best we've ever seen, they weren't scintilating, they lost a game that they had wrapped up 2-1 at full-time. That isn't 'best' or 'scintilating', that's relegation. It doesn't matter how pretty you play if you can't dig in after a sending off or serious injury, or if you switch off for 6 minutes and concede two goals. Disagree JDL - from where I was, that first half was a stride away from most performances this season. Playing well and losing last night is different to playing badly and losing like the weekend. There were signs of life, something to cheer. I don't think it's delusional to want to see the team playing attractive football. We didn't win, no, and do that enough times and we will be relegated but I'd rather go down swinging playing the best football we can than hoof ball like previous games. Quite agree - no time for hoof ball. But I'd really rather NOT go down at all.

FFS - just look at the facts. It's not about being a Grinch or not agreeing with you, it's about what's going on on the pitch - or rather what's not going on. Was I a grinch last season when I was predicting 4-0 for every game - and not just when we were playing well? I'm as stupidly loyal to the club as the next fan, but not to anyone (player or manager) who's not doing his job.

Thing is, it doesn’t matter how many posts some angry old chap on the message board writes, Hakan Heyrettin is our manager for the foreseeable future. The only people who can change that are not about to waste a small fortune gambling on a new management team. So vent your spleen if it makes you less unhappy. I intend to support my team and everyone who manages them, in the hope that one more positive voice on the terraces might make a difference. I refuse to join the morons on other social media attacking the only people who can Improve the outcome of this season. You do you; I’ll do me.

Well said Bernie I find the nauseating posts from jdl always trying to undermine and criticise Stones management team to by disloyal and distructive. Wish some of our so called supporters would emigrate over Bluebell Hill

Everyone down the club is doing their best but we have to keep reading the whingeing brigade.
Moans, groans, running down our players and management
Get a life for Gods sake !
