First half, both sides look exactly like what they are. What? SHIT?

Start second half well, Deacon hits the bar, then we switch off and it is 1-2. Nowhere near 1742 here, of course.

Don't think we deserved to lose, but credit Alty for the positive way they played. A bit like Dorking in some ways - vulnerable at the back, but break with pace and know how to score. Too many times today, we didn't put them under enough pressure when they had the ball and all three goals came when they swept forward pretty much unopposed. Yet we had chances, Deacon hit the bar (and was feisty all game), Booty was everywhere and we put in plenty of effort, most of the time. Not sure Mersin could have done any more - their goals came from deep and we should have snuffed them out before they crossed the halfway line. Not sure either what this defeat will do for confidence and not a nice birthday for Joe Ellul.

Sad to say this because I've always been a fan of his, but Ellul looked a right liability today and hasn't looked great in quite a few games this season.

I've seen an awful lot worse at the G this season. We tried play football, there was a decent amount of interplay and they never gave up. Unfortunately, there was not enough quality where it mattered.

It seems odd to say "can't score, can't defend" after actually scoring two goals, but that's still an accurate description of today's fiasco.
We missed so many chances and, if they hadn't been almost as bad, they'd have scored a dozen. They literally walked their second goal in, with no one attempting to defend at all.
Sorry, but I can't think of a single positive to take from today's game.
If we avoid relegation this season it will be a bloody miracle.
I've never missed a home game I could get to, but I'm seriously thinking of not bothering next Saturday.

I can't be arsed to check, but today's attendance must be the lowest Saturday attendance in years. We got more on Tuesday nights last season. We probably got more in the Clown season.
If we lose next Saturday, I think Hak's time is over.
Bring on the 'Hak got us promoted' brigade, I no longer care.

How people can keep making excuses for this I will never know. Heck, it's laughable that Hak claims so confidently that we will definitely stay up, yet I've seen nothing from this team or our performances that makes me believe a word he's saying. This is honestly as bad as when Wheeler was in charge.

We tried to play football, we didn't just do hoofball, but ultimately, despite Alty not being the best, we weren't good enough to beat them. Disappointing, especially as it was their first away win of the season, but (like it or not), we just don't have enough quality. Booty and Deacon looked good enough, but though Barham ran his heart out, he was always going to be second best against their centre backs. Pattisson had his moments, but not enough of them. Sam Corne is nowhere near the player he was last season. Lawson, the latest loan, wearing 32 (which says it all), was ok, but not a game changer. Here I do wonder about Hak, because Galvin has not let the team down, so why was he warming the bench? Ultimately though, if you regularly ship three goals a game, the only way you are going is down. And it is not just the back four - we concede so many because we lose possession in midfield (attack even) too easily. At the start of the season, most of us were looking for the signing of a strong, defensive midfielder more than anything else. Sadly, we are still waiting.
