Oliver has tweeted about 'difficult staffing decisions' Still hard to for supporters to accept what happened to Beth. It just doesn't feel right coming from the club we love.
I do wonder if gates and income have disappointed at a time when the playing budget may have surged 10%-20%. Just a hint from Oliver that the savings may be needed for something else. Anything from 'survival' to 'new recruits' I guess. Oliver to blog something soon.

Instead of getting rid of the physio, I would be looking at the poor summer recruitment and who was to blame for that? Plus not even playing the players that were signed. Also why did we keep the players that were not good enough to start games last season? Recruitment is to blame for the mess that we are in. Understand that we do not have the biggest budget in this league, but come on who identified these players that we signed? There must be some talent in the National south that we could have signed who would have more passion and talent than the players we did end up signing? Also what has happened to any communication from the club during the week? We only hear from Hak for 2 minutes after every game and that’s usually him saying the same things over and over again. Where has the Friday interview gone. Club has gone silent so would love to know what’s happening. The whole feel good atmosphere from last season has gone and to get rid of our physio just to possibly sign another player does not sit well with me especially with our track record of recruitment this season.

If we've got to the point where we're getting rid of backroom staff to fund new signings, something has gone very wrong and questions need to be asked why the player budget was seemingly spent so badly.

I wonder what effect Beth's sacking has had on the players too. It's hardly going to improve morale.

If it has come to the point when we are putting young ladies on the dole in a bid for a few more points then this is no longer the club I love. The cost of living crisis us harsh on many but deprive someone of a job to sign another useless crock from a team that don't rate him is just wrong. I don't know if anyone from the club especially Oliver is reading this then you can blog all you like but you cannot justify what you have done. You will try but you will fail. I am seriously considering my not watching this club in the future as each week I find something more to dislike.🤬

Last time went joined the NL, Jay was pretty much doing everything himself, with minimal backroom staff. That didn't work, so why does it seem we are repeating previous mistakes?

Fair point. It feels quite dispiriting right now. Its ok to talk about running the club as a business, we all want to see the playing budget given a boost, but we've also seen some of it wasted this season. Anyhow there is also the spirit and the soul of the club to think about. Doesn't look great at the moment. Beth's dismissal feels like a massive own goal and some more.

Feels horribly déjà vu at the moment - 2016 all over again, only earlier in the season. I really hope I'm overreacting, because, after our last experience in the NL, I really didn't expect anything like this again.
It's not just a bugdet issue - there are several clubs in the NL with smaller crowds than us (and less income). If they can survive and thrive, so too should we be able to.

The action to dismiss Beth seems so totally crass from a business perspective and emotionally wrong at every level.
I don't buy the suggestion of her being the victim of cost savings, her role is so important, it just doesn't add up !
Is it just possible that Beth is somehow blamed for the players injuries and their slowness in getting back to match fitness ?

Odd one. We had a similar situation at a similar time in the season last year: October 9th to November 13th 2021: 6 games, 4 losses, 2 draws, 8 conceded, 2 scored. 2 points. (25th October - Under 23's manager Simon Austin leaves suddenly, suggesting budget and management were an issue) September 3rd 2022 to October 4th 2022: 6 games, 5 losses, 1 draw, 18 conceded, 8 scored. 1 point. (3rd October - Physio Beth leaves, suggestions point towards budget). You can take a couple of things away from those 2 situations I think: - We had a very bad patch last year and still won the league with 2 games to go. Things can be turned around.
- Whoever makes decisions, makes them at very bad times. It would never feel right to see Beth go, but during such an atrocious run it seems very naive.
- Do we know the structure of the club from a staff perspective? It feels like the club needs a dedicated Comms / Marketing person to handle external communications and fight fires. Since the end of last summer, announcements and updates have been intermittent to non-existent. I don't think we actually ever got confirmation that half our squad re-signed or a list of players who moved on.

What did she say? that she was surprised? Not much else? I haven't really looked for it, I must be honest. I don't know the ins and outs of her agreement with the club so won't comment.

I know we fans do feel entitled to know a lot and sometimes that might not be valid, but it does seem like we are hearing much less. for example, when the U23 were going well, you couldn't miss the continual updates - now next to nothing. I'm just nosey. I want to know things but also understand they can't be an open book. Lets see what is said.
