Fairly predictable 1-1 in the end. We were average tonight and if Wealdstone are par for the National league we will be alright. Considering they have only lost once I thought they were bang average. New left back looks good, really not sure about the other loanee, Kodi Lyons, hope Elul is not seriously injured. What really pissed me off tonight was the crowd of just 1,799 with about 100 away. For all the talk of new infrastructure, stands, investment, etc where are all of the 4000 plus that turned up to end last season. This club needs your money so if a rainy Tuesday night at home to Wealdstone isn’t attractive enough for you then this club won’t grow. Rant over, COYS.

What annoyed me even more was the number of 'fans' who spent most of the game checking other footall scores and then discussing them - completely ignoring the game. I know this goes on all the time, but it seemed to be particularly rife tonight.

First time this season Ive felt confident watching our defence. A very good defensive display...Ryan looks class. Not a great game but I am happy with a point Three of them were very good. Lyons-Foster had a bit of a mare to be honest. Not sure if he constantly misjudges the flight of the ball but a CB shouldn't wait for the ball to bounce before attacking it. All of Wealdstone's best chances came through him. Hope Joe isn't out for too long.

Maybe I was watching a different game but I thought we were bang average and created nowt we were lucky we were playing against a team that don’t score goals. Looking at their number 9 I can see why……

Crowds around kent were low...just over 600 for dover v dartford kent derby and less than 1000 at Gravesend who are top of the league.

First time this season Ive felt confident watching our defence. A very good defensive display...Ryan looks class. Not a great game but I am happy with a point As you say not a great game but it was what we needed after what Gateshead did to us, keep it tight don't gift them too many opportunities and pass the ball to another guy in a Maidstone shirt, get a draw/win and build the confidence up going forward. Granted it was just the one point but it's a step back in the right direction. Galvin as you say looks a good addition, the back four looked a lot more comfortable than previously, OK as some others have pointed out it was by no means perfect but again it was a step in the right direction, and we can move forward with it. F me was that ref a poor man's Mark Clattenburg, we and the Wealdstone fans were there to watch a football game not a bloody muppet wearing black try and make it all about him with that sodding whistle. As for Wealdstone i expected more of a threat from them if i am honest, not sure if that was due to us getting the ball down and playing or them not being at the races, although their number 11 fell over quicker and easier than Bambi on ice and the number 4 whinged more than Piers Morgan watching Meghan Merkle on Oprah. Number 2 looked a good player though (arse for scoring the goal) stood out as a centre half and also made a few good forays forward.

Just realised that the last time I saw us play Wealdstone in this league was 1988! (They were relegated that year.)

I thought the game was really tedious last night and was a summation of why I didn't enjoy this league before. A draw was fair. Neither team deserved to win. Neither team deserved to lose. In fact, neither team deserved much really. I will remember to bring my knitting next time

I wondered if anybody would notice or was it just me. I found the match proper tedious and low on entertainment. Not the sort of football or spectacle that will push the Gallagher attendances towards 3,000. For die hards it is mostly about results and points. nws is right last night's match was a tedious affair, I hope that it is not a sign of things to come.

Would have taken a tedious 0-0 before the game and not really surprised. Wealdstone don't score many and concede less, so probably why they currently seem to be higher in the table than they perhaps merit. However, it is working for them at the moment I suppose and was a good workout for our reformed defense. Can't help thinking that Dorking's fast counter attacking approach would still cause us problems, but at least we look a bit less likely to get a tonking now, as long as we replicate that work ethic.

It was a funny game. Wealdstone played some nice stuff. We did too but maybe not for as long. I think the game lacked the impetus of home team trying to win it as we were quite cagey.
Defence looked stronger but somehow fragile (maybe that was in my head).
Barham didn't really get into it that much as our wingers weren't that effective for a change.
I really do think that Corne + Booty + "One Good Big CM" could dominate games in this league (No offence to Dom and Gurung btw).

The only way you will see 3000 this season is if the away team sell out their 600 allocation and even then we would have to be on a winning run. The glory hunters have already departed in their hundreds and, let's face it, £19 for NON LEAGUE FOOTBALL isn't going to entice many back especially if games are as tedious as you say last nights game was. Luckily having had 8 needles at the dentist I decided to give it a miss.

I really do think that Corne + Booty + "One Good Big CM" could dominate games in this league (No offence to Dom and Gurung btw). It's puzzling, but I felt the same about the defence, despite the fact that they were clearly more solid. Having a proper LB, so Fowler could play in his natural position made a huge difference. With Ellul back next to him, we should be as good at the back as we were last season. It could just be that we've looked (and been) fragile all season, so I've just got used to feeling like that! But we are still letting players get through and round us more than we should, and there was still too much of the last-ditch defending. Not as much as in earier games, but still too much for comfort. But, the defence did look a lot better. If we had managed a couple more goals, I don't think we'd be worrying about it so much! We've effectively lost our main goal scorer for the season, and haven't (yet) replaced him, and at the same time, we're playing against much better defences, so our other regular scorers are finding it a lot harder. Prhaps now the defence is looking better, Hak can concentrate on the other end of the pitch. Leaving aside the odd nightmare like Gateshead and Wrexham (and there'll probably be a few more), we don't actually look that bad against most of the NL sides we've seen so far. I don't think we are stuggling anything like some of the doom-sayers on here predicted. If we can only score a few more, we could well end up on the right side of mid-table. Which, for me at least, would be a cracking end to our first season.
