Well time to start thinking of Saturday. Is 3 on the trot feasible? Yes! The thing that slightly worries me is the travelling. If we go by train on the day it may have an adverse effect on the performance, but and I think we will,if we travel up Friday and stay overnight then there is no reason why the boys can't steal the points. This is of course providing Hak keeps them out of the Bigg market on Friday night. I think we will have around 200 fans there which will be a magnificent effort alas I'll not be one of them. Anyway good luck and COYS!

I'm going, travelling up to Glasgow on Friday by plane, spending the day there, then traveling down to Newcastle by train in the evening. Meeting up with old Geordie mates after the game, then coming home by train on Sunday.
Although I bought my ticket to the game online, I never got an email confirmation or a ticket in the post. Everytime I email Gateshead the email just sits in a queue and does not send

In case of easyJet playing up or train strikes I took out travel insurance with the post office. Irony is my easyJet flight to Glasgow i got for £35, train from Glasgow to Newcastle is £21, train from Newcastle to bearsted is £63 and the taxi to Gatwick is £75!!

No idea when you're flying, but if during the day Friday, it's £39 by train to Gatwick. And Gatwick is great to get to by train, as the station is right inside the airport. Takes a couple of hours though, as you hve to go via Victoria.

In theory, you could go cross-country, via Tonbridge and Redhill (only £22 and slightly quicker), but there's only one combination of trains a day where this works, and it's a lot of faffing about.
Years ago there used to be a Sunday only service from MW that did this route directly (reversing at Redhill). We often used to use this, as it was pretty much door-to-door for us, and was so much easier and cheaper than going via Victoria. But we were often the only people on the train, so it was no surprise when they stopped running it. It used to baffle me why they didn't run this during the week and advertise it. When you think of the cost of getting a taxi or parking at Gatwick, it was a no brainer. But, alas it is no more.

There was briefly a coach from outside county hall that ran every hour and a half for a year or so... My flight is at 9am,so I've a taxi booked for 6am to get me to Gatwick for around 7am

I remember back in 2008, getting the national express from maidstone to Victoria coach station, then an easybus mini bus for £2 from across the road to Gatwick

Rollingstones trip is costing him around £200, excluding hotels, food and drink, which gives some idea of the cost of an away trip for the whole team and support staff. That bill must run into thousands and far exceed the cost of hiring a coach for the day. Another reason to make sure we get a positive result!

My hotel for two nights is £268,but it is right in the city centre
