Guess we will all be hoping for a positive reaction on Saturday. Like us, Torquay have won one (1-0 at Halifax), drawn one (0-0 v Oldham) and lost two, both narrowly. Their win at Halifax suggests they will set up for a draw and hope to sneak a narrow win. Hak meanwhile will be wondering who to pick. Almost none of the side that lost the last two games, given his reaction on Saturday, but suspect he has simmered down and if he can't get any new blood this week, will have to make do and maybe change the way we set up? No Sam Corne of course (just what was he sent off for v Dorking?), so wonder if he will start with a side similar to the one that beat York, bringing in Alabi. Gaping hole left by Sam. Will Odusanya start again, or will we see a complete reshuffle, with three at the back and five in midfield? 0-0 might be a good result, given the circumstances, but this is a game we'd normally be looking to win.

Just at the moment, Stones are probably the clubs most want to play. Defensively we have looked poor and the goals against column doesn't lie. Too much has been made of our left back injury, but it has been the catalyst for so many changes with players out of position. For me Mersin always had question marks over his game, shot-stopping is fine, but communication, presence, kicking, distribution, coming for crosses, command of the 6 year box. Maybe Tom Hadler will get a chance. Was he really so poor during the 21/22 season ? But the team needs to get back to defending all over the pitch, with a high tempo game, hassling the opposition everywhere. Probably short of 2/3 quality players still with none of the new signings looking special. Be happy with a draw, says it all.

More than a few parallels with our predicament - including referees!

Looking forward to this one, feels like the first proper National League game at the Gallagher this season.

Alas I won't be there I'll be enjoying food, beer and live music on Sandgate beach but I have predicted a win and I'll stick to it. Torquay will not be easy to play but what I remember of them last time they were a very negative side but I suppose its a different manager these days. Hope everyone enjoys the game and at least it won't be 35°c this week.

This is the kind of game that makes all the downsides of National League life worthwhile. Decent former league club with a good away support, but not enough finance to be unbeatable. It’s going to be tough with our current form, but we have to assume we can get something. I’d settle for a point right now.

Hadler
Hoyte Fowler Ellul Vincent
Gurung Booty Pattisson
Barham Alabi Deacon
This would be my line up. Back four and keeper as close as it can be from last season, Vincent not ideal, but playing in his natural position. Believe we used 4-3-3 last year with two either side of the main striker dropping back to bolster the midfield. Would drop Woods and Cawley. Think Gurung would put the miles in to prove himself. Stick to the high pressure game Hak promotes. Just my opinion which mean FA..

Pattisson goes in the front 3 where he causes most problems .

Decent effort but demonstrates where we have obvious weaknesses. No news of player imports for this week but in truth this wasnt ever likely to produce results either. Little room for optimism at present

I was hoping we would hear something by now. So badly need a left back and a 'bite yer legs' midfielder. Losing Sam Corne has left another hole which cant be filled properly

The warning signs (defensively) were loud and clear at the Dorking match.. So it went from bad to worse at Wrexham. Can Hak and Terry stop the rot ?
