Curious game. We look a bit vulnerable from crosses and seem unable to stop them coming in.
We look like scoring though.
Could be 2-2 - probably should be 1-2.

2-2 draw in front of 2359 fans. Lots of Yorkies moaning about plastic pitches. Six minutes of extra time. Please let me be wrong. Please let me be wrong.

Sadly, August attendances are usually below average. Supporters like me are on holiday with the family. If you are on holiday in football season then you are not a fan. With love From France🤣🤣

Well spotted nws. Its right that we call out these dodgy predicters.
But what a game in scorching weather. Fitness looking really good against a very decent York side. Great game from Roarie but trust 'Ice Cool Sam' to deliver the goods. Everything looking so promising. Well done Stones.

Good point Jackster. I noticed too that we looked fitter and seemed to get stronger

Good all round team effort. Happy to see Joe Ellul back. 0-1 and then a missed penalty from JB. 2 crackers from Sam Corne following great approach work from Deacon. The team dug in well in searing heat to come from behind late on. Hak must be happy. I know I am.

Substitutions changed the game.
Pace matters.
Nice one Hak

Sam Corne not far behind.
The team must be buzzing.

Arguable we rather shithoused that win. Really classy finishing from Corne, but some very dodgy defending might have cost us. Could be our fitness was a factor in the heat, but we certainly looked a lot more threatening when Pattisson and Odusanya came on. Indeed Fawole, completing the trio of top knots looked lively when he came on late for Barham. Overall though, it is last season's players who stood out for me. Quite like Cawley, who is clearly a feisty character, but at the moment it means Fowler is at right back and is not as good going forward as JB-W. Cawley not as good playing out of defence today, but great to see Joe Ellul back. Deacon, Booty and Corne all looked good too, but seems we need to find a penalty taker. Guess the ref was ok, but not sure what the assistant on the Riverside was seeing.

Get Hadler back in goal, Mersin is crap. His distribution is poor and he always looks shakey when under any pressure.

Tom Hadler is def Stones number 1 He needs to be put back in asap. He's fit as he's on the bench, so why is Hak leaving him on the bench?

Hak says there in nothing to choose between the 2 of them. Whatever happens in training Tom has proven himself in competition, time and time again.
